Disney Tip Thursday

Here are some news bits that I thought I would share with you! On select evenings, Grand Floridian Resort & Spa guests can now roast marshmallows around a Mickey-shaped campfire, sing favorite camp tunes on the shore of Seven Seas Lagoon and see the "stars" --both on the silver screen and in the sky --as they watch a family-friendly Disney film on the moonlit beach. S'mores kits and marshmallows are available for purchase during the campfire and movie. For more information about recreational activities at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, visit Disneyworld.com or call 407-824-4321. YUMMO! I wonder if you are a Disney resort guest, can you sneak in and do it too?! There is a new Create Your Own Ears Hat boutique located inside Disney's Wonderful World of Memories at Downtown Disney Marketplace. You can choose from a variety of decorations to make your Ears unique: 19 colors, including purple satin, blue velvet and glow-in-the-dark green, along with 19 varieties of snap-on ears, such as metallic, rhinestone or furry. Prices vary based on the add-ons. A basic hat -- a base, two ears and a chin strap -- starts at $7.50. Character patches, letters, stickers and embroidery are available. I so want to do this! I have seen already some funky ears done! Beginning July 13, 2009, the Magical Fireworks Voyage experience, formerly open only to guests booking Grand Gatherings, will become the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage and will be available to all guests regardless of the size of their party. You can book this fireworks experience now by contacting 407-WDW-PLAY (939-7529). YEAH!!! Finally! Have a magical day! Cindy

Wacky Wednesday

Sorry this is late this morning but today is VERY busy day for me. Already we had dentist appts and then working working working. I have some super CUTE teacher gifts to show you all on Friday! I got the idea from UStamp Spring 09! This was a UStamp project that I did with Allison during our Winter Break in February. She put together all the punch animals and helped me make the box. Then we printed out the name of the animals and put them on the back. Like a flash card! You can ask your child to name the animal, then say the sound or even ask them to spell it. I would laminate the animal cards. If you love this idea for your little one, let me know and I can help you make one! Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Tip Tuesday

Disney's Animal Kingdom will be offering a new meal program called Picnic in the Park. As part of this program, you will be able to purchase a meal for the family packaged in an "Every Tree Has Character" reusable bag, which can then be taken to one of a number of picnic spots throughout the park. Plates and utensils are provided. Meals include a choice of entrees, side dishes, desserts, and water. There are two tiers available: Tier 1 features a chicken wrap, ham grinder, tuna pita, or turkey focaccia sandwich, with pricing starting at $24.99 plus tax for a meal for three. Tier 2 offers a choice of rotisserie chicken or ham, with pricing starting at $29.99 plus tax for a meal for three. See the attached link to view all details: http://allears.net/din/akpicnic.htm You place your order at the Picnic in the Park podium located in front of Guest Relations at Animal Kingdom, between 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. daily. After that time, or if you decide to get a picnic pack after you're in the park, go directly to the podium at Tusker House Restaurant to place the order. Pick-up time needs to be at least two hours from the time the order is placed, and you'll need to bring the copy of the order form as confirmation. The pick-up location is at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery. If you are on the Dining plan, it is a Quick Service Meal (requires one adult entitlement per meal amount). For example, a meal for three will require three adult entitlements. I would really like to try this program on our next visit if Disney makes it last that long. Disney trying to help out with the family budgets. The price for us 4 would be 32.99 - 38.99 based on Tier 1 or 2. That is roughly 9.00 - 11.00 per person. And we all might actually eat it! Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Tip Thursday

Another new thing going on at Downtown Disney is this new "ride" called Characters in Flight! Jack Spence over at AllEars.net wrote this incredible blogging post with amazing pictures about the grand opening of this new experience ride. You can read his blog here: http://land.allears.net/blogs/jackspence/2009/04/characters_in_flight_grand_ope.html I am thrilled that they have this type of experience happening in Downtown Disney. So many do NOT even go to Downtown Disney. We enjoy it for the atmosphere and a less expensive night out but with the Disney thrill AND fun. Now this new ride does cost (your in Disney, everything has a price!). Adults are $16.00 and Children 3-9 are $10.00. The posted hours are Sunday thru Thursday 10:30am - 11pm, and Friday and Saturday, 10:30am - 12midnight. As I read the review above, I was excited to see this ride, but in reality and afterthought, I am not sure if we will be able to do this one. Howard is not fond of heights and either am I. But it looks like an challenging experience for sure! Have a magical day! Cindy

Wacky Wednesday

I want to show the other original color combo that I made for the "Make a gift" workshop. I totally cased this idea for the cards and holders from the very talented Jill Hilliard! See hers here: http://jill031070.blogspot.com/2009/02/fifth-ave-floral-notes-class.html And the notepad holder was cased from this idea here: http://jill031070.blogspot.com/2009/04/post-its-never-had-it-so-good.html Then I was searching for something else to add to this workshop and I found this beautiful bookmark on Barb Mullikin's blog here: http://www.barbstamps.com/my_weblog/2009/04/super-cool-bookmark.html She gives a tutorial and so I cased it to match my sets for the workshop. See what talented ladies I have for inspiration! Thank you ladies! I am in awe of your creativity! I have 6 spots left for the Workshop on this Friday and Saturday if you are interested! Let me know! Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Tip Tuesday

So new things are happening at Downtown Disney! If you have never been, it is a great way to get that Disney feel without paying $$ for park ticket. We usually go there the first night we arrive after our meal and stay there it closing at 11pm. Then we finish our trip with a stop at the HUGE 5,000 sq ft Disney Store before we hit the road for home. Several years ago, Pleasure Island offered a New Year's Eve fireworks celebration and party. It was one of the perks to buy at DVC Saratoga Springs Resort that you could see the fireworks from a viewing area. We could even see them when staying in Congress Park area of the resort in our own bed! Finally after some major reconstruction, the partying is back! Maybe the fireworks will come back too! Downtown Disney has introduced "Celebrate Tonight!", a high-energy street party that focuses on what our Guests are celebrating which is the theme for this year's promotion. DJs are the party hosts who get guests to join in with stilt walkers and party crew for group dances and sing-alongs to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings, or whatever our guests want to celebrate and all while spinning the latest and greatest party hits. The party is located in the West End Plaza of Pleasure Island. Celebrate Tonight! is now running 5pm-11pm Sunday through Thursday and 6pm-Midnight Fridays and Saturdays. So put this fun time on your plans to visit while you are there! Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Tip Thursday

I wanted to share this bit of information that I just found out. Many of my friends and local Cherokee County school families will be traveling to Disneyworld come September during our fall break. (WE WILL BE THERE!) #1 Right now Disney is offering the FREE dining plan option on your Walt Disney World Resort Magic Your Way Package with a minimum 3 night stay valid for travel most nights 8/16/2009 - 10/3/2009. It is such a deal to get your meals FREE! Especially at DisneyWorld! Rooms are limited and must be booked by June 21, 2009!!! Also you just have to put a $200 deposit to reserve it then if something happens and you can not go then you can cancel and get a refund. #2 Tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party will go on sale in May 1st, 2009. The party dates for that week in September are Tuesday 22nd and Friday 25th. I highly recommend this fun event if you are going that week! Kids AND adults can dress up! What fun! Do not use a regular Magic your way tickets that day cause you can get into the park at 4pm and it closes at midnight. Go on Tuesday, less crowded. You can read my post here for more info: Disney trip Day Two in the labels on the right column. Have a magical day! Cindy

Hoppy Easter Finale

Here is the last Easter card that I made for my family members and close friends. (Yes, Reenie I forgot to give you it last week) I found this cute card here: http://craftdoc.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2009/03/24/easter-side-step-card/ It is such a cute card to display! I changed mine a little by stamping the chick image on the designer paper and then cutting it out. I used some different designer paper for the eggs but it is the same idea as hers. I used Certainly Celery for the base card which had to be cut precisely in a way in order for it to fold like this. See here: The designer paper is from the Salebration bundle paper and the 5/8" So Saffron ribbon is also from the ribbon bundle at Salebration. I used A Good Egg stamp set. I think this set is a must to have for Easter! These are the tags I made for my nephews' and niece's Easter bags. I saw this here: http://flowerbug.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/03/punch-art-bunny-hinged-card-tutorial.html It is all using punches! (you know I love this!) I decided to make my bunny on a tag since they looked like the bunny on the bags. The Top Note Big Shot die cut is perfect for a tag! If you like, put a piece of magnet on the back of it and put it on your frig for decorations! So that covers all of Easter. On to the next holiday! Mother's DAY! Hurray! Have a magical day! Cindy

Happy Easter III

Sorry this is late posting but today has been very busy. We had to go set up for Easter breakfast at our church this morning. We had to cook some bacon and that smell stayed with me all day. Then when we got home, the girls and I colored Easter eggs. Next I played Rock Band with Megan while Allison shot the BB Gun at cans with Daddy. I found some time later on to prepare for a great class in two weeks that will post this week. I also made some wonderful gift box and card set that you can purchase from me. I took all the pictures so I need to work on that. We just finished showers and I trimmed the girls' hair myself. Easter outfits are picked out. Now I think I will go watch the rest of The Ten Commandments. Tomorrow we attend church and serve Easter breakfast with our youth group to the entire church. Then off to Easter dinner and egg hunt at my folks' house. This basket I made from my punch online class that I took last month. I used Pink Pirouette, Whisper White and Kraft cardstock. I love the heart nose! "May the miracle of Easter bring you renewed faith, hope and happiness." Enjoy your Easter Day! Many blessings, Cindy

Happy Easter II

This lovely original card I did at the Scrap Camp weekend. I really love the colors in this and many of the ladies said they liked it without the ribbon. But I took a picture of the one with the ribbon. You decide with or without? This card measured 4 x 4 in Kiwi Kiss. I used the new Fifth Ave Flowers stamp set which has this beautiful Lily in it. I stamped in Staz On Black on watercolor paper. Then watercolored in So Saffron very lightly on the petals and darker at the anthers of the stamen with pumpkin pie. Cut it out and put on with dimensionals to pop it off the card. The background was stamped using Kiwi Kiss with the Pocket Silhouettes set and sponges on the edges of a 2.5 x 2.5 white cardstock. The Perfect Plum cardstock is 3 x 3. The So Saffron was 1 x 3 and punch using the Eyelet Edge. The Happy Easter is from A Good Egg and stamped with Staz On Black. Optional: The ribbon is 5/8" So Saffron Grosgrain ribbon cut at 11" to make a tied knot. Have a magical day! Cindy

Happy Easter I

Are you thinking...where are the easter cards? I did three cards which one I still have to take a picture of. I hope to post that on this Saturday. Today's card was cased from a card on Splitcoasterstampers.com here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/828428?si=easter%20pick%20a%20petal if you want to see the original card. I used Certainly Celery, River Rock, Pumpkin Pie inks with Certainly Celery , Black and Confetti Vanilla cardstock. Stamp sets are Pick a Petal, A Good Egg, Baroque Motifs and Baroque Borders Wheel. I used the Top Note Big Shot Die Cut. The ribbon was a mellow moss/certainly celery cross from Walmart I think. I added the carrot lines with my Pumpkin Pie Marker. I like the elegance of this card for Easter. Check back tomorrow for the next Easter card. Have a magical day! Cindy

Baby Shower for Emily!

Today I want to share the many baby shower projects that I did for my sweet cousin Emily in Arizona who is having a girl named Taylor Grace at the end of April. She wanted to match the theme of the shower with the colors of their nursery collection from baby Gap. She asked me to create the invitations over a month ago and here is her final pick as all 50 of them were being shipped out that day. Very simple card with Regal Rose 5/8" crosgrain ribbon and Green Galore embossed the Cuttlebug Swiss dots. This is the 3 x 3 card I sent just to say thanks for choosing me to make the invitations. I love this punch baby! SOOOO CUTE! Little Taylor Grace with blond hair like her mommy's. And here is the baby shower present and card I sent to her to use as decorations for the shower as well as my gift to her. I found this idea off Splitcoaststampers.com here:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?si=diaper+wreath&x=15&y=9 Remember the diaper cake I made for my SIL(look back in November 08 posts), well I thought it would be too much to ship to AZ, so I found this idea instead. Everything was put together so that you can take it apart and use it, even the diapers on the wreath ring! She put iton the front door of her house. And here is the card I made to send to her. Inside says GIRL with the same Big Deal Stamp Letters. Hope you like! Have a magical day! Cindy

Scrapbooking Tuesday

ALOHA! again Here are more pages from the Hawaii photo album that I made at Scrap Camp! I found this cute idea of Hula girls punch art from here: They are super easy to make. I used 1" circle, 1 1/4" circle and the trip flower punches to create these sweet island girls. To make one girl = Blush Blossum -two 1" circles, Old Olive - one 1 1/4" circle and cut to look like grass, Black - one 1" circle cut in half and one 1 1/4" circle, and the flowers punch x 4. Click on to view larger. This set of pages shows you how you can take the idea of a panaromic picture and apply it to the same idea as yesterday with the vertical photos. The bottom two slots are the panoramic shot with cardstock to do some journaling on. I hope you have enjoyed these pages and new twist to do a photo album! Try it! Mahalo and Aloha to Hawaii til we meet again! Have a magical day! Cindy

Scrapbooking Monday

ALOHA! One of my main goals at Scrap Camp was to finish this photo album of my trip to Hawaii with my mom in 2006. It was a 200 page album that I bought at Target. I only had about 110 pictures for this album so I wanted to add some scrapbooking elements to this traditional photo album. I loved the colors on the front and decided to stick with them as the theme for the book. I used Regal Rose, Pretty in Pick, Old Olive, White, Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. I used the retired stamp set called Do the Hula. Many punches and the Cricut letters were also used in this album. You can click on any of the pics to view larger. Here is one of the first set of pages. . I loved to using the 5-petal flower punch on this page and I still have some journaling to do on this page. Here is the newest technique I learned at Archiver's when using a 4x6 photo album. What do you do with those vertical pictures in a horizontal page book? You take the picture and cut it in half at a not so obvious spot and put in on two 4x6 cardstocks. Then put it on the same side slots to look like one picture. I love it! Then you can add elements and journaling around the picture. Brillant idea! So I have more to show you tomorrow from the Hawaii scrapbook! Have a magical day! Mahalo! Cindy

Scrapbooking Friday

I wanted to share with you two more scrapbooks that I finished during Scrap Camp. This marvelous idea came from Heather Summers on the UStamp promo last summer. You can download the pdf from here: http://stampwithheather.typepad.com/stamp_with_heather/2008/06/free-scrapbook-pdf.html Heather's blog is top notch SU! talent and UStamp is such a great way to create and share with others. The next UStamp starts April 24th! So I had each of my daughters pick their favorite SU! designer series paper from that catalog out and bought all the supplies I needed that were listed on the pdf. I did one thing different - I did only one layer on all the photos. Here are Megan's Kindergarten pages. I still have to do some journaling on all of these but I will do it with them to capture their thoughts of that year. I will do them on Word and print them out on white cardstock. She picked Jersey Shore Paper and used Brillant Blue, Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie colors. This is a close up of the photo page that has a pouch to hold the grade card report behind the 5x7 photo. The grade titles were printed from the computer off Word. Here is her 4th grade pages. I bought a blue scrapbook from JoAnn's to hold ALL her years - Preschool to Kindergarten to 12th grade and finishing with Graduation. - sad thought :o( Here are Allison's Kindergarten pages. She picked Cutie Pie Paper with Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, and Rose Red. Here are 1st grade pages that we will complete this year. I bought the same size and make scrapbook in red for her school pages. JoAnn's had them at 50% off! What a deal! I had to add more page sleeves as well. So I finished them in one day at camp. I am so happy to have them done and ready to fill each year. Preschool thru 12th grade pages are done for each daughter. The first page is their preschool years and the very last page will be Graduation. I think I am going to cry! Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Scrapbook Day

Here are two of the 2005 Disney Trip Scrapbook pages that I created while at Scrap Camp last weekend. The first one is what I like to do for the start of each trip's album. I type out a schedule of our trip, add the reservation confirmation, resort cards, and park hours pamphlet. Add a picture on some great Disney paper with fun sayings and done! Sorry for the fuzzy picture. I need to learn how to take better pics of scrapbook pages. Here is the second set of pages done. I got to use the Mickey Font on the Cricut machine for the titles. I have a mickey ears punch that I used with Brillant Blue cardstock. The paper is from a Disney 2005 package set of papers. I got more done and I will show you next week on Tuesday and Thursday. Thanks for stopping by! Have a magical day! Cindy

Scrap Camp Recovery Day Three

Ok, so I am still in Scrap Camp hangover mode! My day flew by and by the time I realized the no posting, it was bedtime. So pictures are done and I will post what I made during Scrap Camp over the next couple of days. Cindy
