No it is not Dec 31st! But it is FREAKY time to post this now at one month later! Oh, well :)
Something I forgot to do at the end of last year was a recap of my 2009 creations. I was working more with my MDS class from Heather and came up with this idea to create a recap page each year for my creations. So I took my blog header and added the pictures of my favorites from that year.
Some are my own designs, other cases and mostly from Heather's classes. You will see cards, 3D items and scrapbooking pages.

Thursday Decor
I was looking around at things that I have done with Definitely Decorative and I remembered that I never showed my three picture frames that I made last year. Of course they are cased after the marvelous HeatherSummers! You can see here: heather's home-decor
I used photos in black and white. The paper is just scraps that I used from the Urban Garden pack. The colors go with my living room where these are displayed on the large wall. The Definitely Decorative vinyl art is Long Stem Silhouette (L) for $34.95 in Chocolate Chip. I just divided them by cutting them in sections and adding a few to each frame. I love how they turned out! Thanks to Heather!
During Christmas, I take the glass out and put in my Christmas Snowmen Collection art. Then I do not have to take off those vinyl elements to never use again. What a waste if I did that!

Wacky Wednesday
Today I wanted to show you how I used Definitely Decorative by Stampin Up. Our family got two laptops for Christmas this year. Well, we had one and decided that enough of the fighting on who was on the laptop, so we got another one. Howard works for IBM so we got a deal. We boxed them both up and gave them to the girls together on Christmas morning. Anywoo, the laptops look exactly the same! So I asked the girls to look thru the Definitely Decorative catalog here: Definitely Decorative and let me know what they wanted on the top of their laptops with some help from me as well.
Megan picked Friends are Forever in White and Real Red.
Allison picked Upsy Daisies in Pretty in Pink.

Allison picked Upsy Daisies in Pretty in Pink.
They were so easy to put on by just following the directions. Best thing, they can come off without destroying the laptop finish. So far, it has been a month and no peeling off either. We all love the look too! This is just ONE way for using these vinyl elements in your home. So be sure to check out the product line!

Two weeks ago...
...was this little girl's first Birthday! Yeah, for Abigail! Just days before she had started walking so to see her at her Birthday party walking all over was SO much fun! Do you not love her dress? Yes, Aunt Cindy (moi) and Cousin Allison picked it out for her! Perfect for the day! It was a great party and her Mommy and Daddy did a awesome job!
Here is the card I made especially for Abigail's first Birthday! I went with the colors that matched her gift bag which just happened to match her dress. Green Galore, Pixie Pink, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie. I used the Circle Circus and Tiny Teeny Wishes stamp sets. Crushed Curry Dotted ribbon and lots of punches! The cupcake is made by half of a scalloped circle punch. The cupcake holder is 1 3/8" square at angled sides and crimped. The candle is just a sliver of crushed curry and the flame is the petal of a boho blossum punch in pumpkin pie. The sprinkle dots on the cupcake are 1/8" circles. I stamped more circles on the envelope.

Made for Monday
Every year I get a new monthly planner for the new year. I found this one at Walmart and it is the same designer brand that I always buy cause I like the layout of the planner with plenty of space to write all I have to do each day. I even bought a matching notebook for basic to-do lists and ideas. I got the laptop bag and some folders that also are matching. The best part is that they were all on low CLEARANCE! Love that!
And then I got to looking at the floral on the front and thought it looked like the Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil from Stampin Up. Right? Guess that is the trend this year!

Cindy
So my yearly planners are never plain on the front because I always put my signature C and the year. This year I wanted to play with my new Cricut machine and so I used my George font cartridge and cut the C at the size of 3.5". The 10 is cut at 1.25". The C is Pixie Pink and the 10 is Wild Wasabi. Then I added the ribbon I had to match the colors on the inside. Crushed Curry Dotted, green dotted, black and pink striped ribbon finish it off.

Fantastic Friday
Happy Friday Everyone!
I made some organizational gifts for myself at the beginning of the month. I got these fantastic ideas from Jill on her blog here: Rolodex and desk top holder. I went to my local Walmart and found the rolodex for 9.95 and the holder for 2.95. I went with my favorite old in-colors Baha Breeze and Kiwi Kiss because they match my office/studio and well I like them.
On the birthday rolodex, I used the matchbox die cut that has a curly label and cut 12 of them out in Kiwi Kiss. The Baha Breeze strips of cards are 1.5 x 4 and stamped with the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and Baha Breeze and Craft White ink . Then stamped in Baha Breeze ink the months from Full Calendar and punched out with the Modern Label. The flowers are done with the Trio Flower punch and silver brads. The simple knot in Kiwi Kiss is attached with a large glue dot.
The desk top holder was so simple. I just measured the (stamped like above) Baha Breeze to 1 7/8" x 4 11/16" for the front. I rounded the corners on the top edge. The back is 4 5/8" x 4 11/16" and rounded corners on the top edge. They are both attached by brads thru the mesh. I added the Kiwi Kiss bow in a simple knot.
I put them both on my desk. The rolodex reminds me of coming birthdays and the holder holds the cards and envelopes to send out. My goal is to actually "send" cards out this year and not just make them. This would make a great gift as well for $15.00! Thanks to Jill for sharing and be sure to check out the rest of her 12 days of Christmas posts and get inspired to create something for yourself too!

Thursday finds a New Look on my blog!
So I think I found it and got it right this time! Simple and I love that MDS layout of floral that I found! B-E-A-U-TI-FUL! I wanted to figure out how to add color to the sides of my blog. More researching and playing....back to work.

Wacky Wednesday
I really wanted to share this page that I did on the MDS program. It is my favorite so far! I had the idea in my head once I saw Heather's page here: a-little-dose-of-mds and when this next lesson came up, I knew I had to go for it!
This is my niece Abigail and her Christmas portraits. All of them were so beautiful that her mommy Lois had to get all of them. She sent me an email with them on it and I just saved the photos to my Pictures file off the email. The colors are Riding Hood Red and Black. I played with stamped background, curly punch as the layered page, and making the photo box as circles for the ornament look. I matched the color of the lighter red on the paper to make the oval punch layers pop out.
This really made me proud once I finished this page. I will definitely get this page printed asap!

Monday...Tuesday...
Sorry, I am having trouble with old monster computer at home. Hopefully I will get something on tomorrow or later thru laptop.
Yesterday was still busy as we are in the process of switching bedrooms with the girls. I am purging lots of toys and old baby items too. I cried at least twice yesterday and sneezed about 100 times due to dust. I decided that I am going to make a memory box for each child. So now I am going to search for a large enough heavy cardboard box with a lid to decoupage with papers. They need to be pretty large to hold all their childhood memories. Maybe a large plastic container and decoupage it instead? Anyone ever try decoupage on plastic items? Hum...
Catch ya later!

p.s. do not get use to the new look of the blog....only temporary til I find what I really want.

Festive SNOWY Friday
Hi everyone! Here is my MDS page that shows our light dusting of snow that we had last Friday and all the fun that came with that snow/ice. This is from Project 3 of the Simply MDS class. I can not tell you how much I have learned in this class already! I highly recommend that if you have the MDS program then sign up with Heather on her blog here: my-digital-studio-online-class You can still sign up today even though the class has started. She leaves it up for awhile and you can do the class at your own pace. How great is that? This page was a little more time consuming because you had to learn how to do all the layers and punches and text boxes. Watching the class videos REALLY help! I had placed my pictures too high so I had to move everything down so let me just say - I love that UNDO button! But oh, what a great learning process! The colors used are Basic Gray, Bashful Blue, White and Black. I used punches, brads, stamps, text, designer papers all on this page.
Each day, I learn something new and have gone back and even updated some of the pages that I have already posted here on my blog so be sure to go back and check them again. Can you see the difference?

Thursday MDS card!
Today's card was made on the My Digital Studio program. I never bought this stamp set but always liked it. The background is Kraft and layered with floral Pretty in Pink designer series paper. I added the white grosgrain ribbon and bow. The layered Pretty in Pink and Kraft under the white cardstock is shadowed to make it pop up. The heart is done in Pretty in Pink and the sentiment in Kraft. I love that you can use Kraft as a ink which is NOT an option in real life.
I wanted to see if the colors hold true when you print this up. I just did a card front and printed it. I was quite surprised at the colors from my printer. The Kraft was a little darker but the Pretty in Pink was right on. I need to make a color chart of SU colors off the MDS program and print it up to see what colors hold true to print. I am having to get to work so I will try and post a picture of this printed card later so you can see the quality of the MDS print.

Wacky Wednesday on MDS
I wanted to show my first complete project from Simply My Digital Studio class. I am learning so much about the program thru this class by Heather. It really is so easy to use! Know what else is easy? Downloading MDS projects to my blog are very easy to do so plan to see lots of them!
This page is when we went to Disney in Sept 09 and Alexa, my BFF's daughter, went on the zipline by HERSELF at the age of 3! You can click on the picture to read the details of the ride. What a great memory!
In this lesson, Heather showed us how to add pictures and then change the opacity to get a faded look. I also made the background paper of Summer Sun and toned it down 10%. That gave me another shade of yellow. In another video she did, she taught how to add designer paper and embellishments to size them for the page.

MDS make Disney look good!
Here is the second My Digital Studio page I made. I had these Disney pictures on my laptop and used them to make this page. I used background designer paper in Kiwi Kiss and then matted the photos in Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie. I used the circle punches option to create the Mickey ears. This was my learning part in this page. How to use the punches to make character or shapes and then fill in the colors. I then added the buttons in Bermuda Bay. I am really enjoying the MDS program! I started the Simply MDS online class yesterday with Heather Summers. She is showing us how to use the program and viedo tips for the next 20 days for $20.00. So you will be seeing some more MDS pages and items. I love the challenges she gives too!

Made for Monday
Sorry I missed Festive Friday, but we did not have school around here and we played in the snow/ice and drank hot chocolate and basically hung out by the hot fire. Then I worked more on the MDS program. So since it was Festive Friday, here is a belated festive Halloween MDS page that was my first MDS page ever!
I really was not sure about the MDS program and was very hesitate to buy it at all. So far...I am in love with it! Very easy to make a simple page within 10 minutes or less. Did not really like this page at first, but once I learned how to make the embellishments come forward on the layers and add mats to the photos, the pages made me happier. The variety of stamps within the program alone is amazing. I could never buy those stamps. I also like that they have old in-colors and the currant in-colors. Rich Razzleberry is used in my page here as well as Pumpkin Pie and Black. I know I have a lot more to learn and I want to see how they print on my printer. Stampin Up just announced that you can now buy individual pages (min 5 to print order) and now that is exciting to me! They are $2.95 each.
Have a magical day!
P.S. Our schools are out again today! Ice on secondary roads in northern part of county...hoping it warms up today to melt that ice.

Thursday Top Header
Hello All,
My creation today is my new blog header! I just got the My Digital Studio from Stampin Up and I downloaded it today on my laptop. All I can say is.......AMAZING! I did two scrapbook pages in less than 20 minutes and never even look at instructions on how to use the program. So then I started to play with making a blog header. After some research on Patty's Stamping Spot about the blog headers made from the MDS (My Digital Studio), I was off to create mine. The biggest problem I had was resizing the header to fit. The size for blogspot is 648 x 186 in case you would like to know. So let me know what you think about the new look of the header. I can also change this for a seasonal look since there is so many images and colors on the MDS. I will post the scrapbook pages tomorrow.
Have a magical day!
p.s. We got snow today! A light dusting but pretty. With the freezing temps tonight, it might just turn into ice and no school tomorrow! The kids are wishing that is for sure.

Wacky Wednesday Resumes
I made several of this birthday card for my stock pile using a simple punch cupcake and retired stamp set and items. I love the Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette combo. The cupcake is done with the scallop circle punch then cut in half, sponged edjes and white gel pen dotted to make the sprinkles. I punched a 1 1/4" square and cut the sides at angles. Then ran it thru the crimper. The trip flower punch is held on by a white brad. The scallop edge has white gel pen for a sweet touch. I watercolored the candle in pink after I stamped it in Kiwi Kiss. The striped grosgrain pink pirouette ribbon make a sweet finish of this card.

Allison did it!
I forgot to show you all the card that my mini-me Allison made for her sister's birthday. She came to me and said that she wanted to make a birthday card for Megan. So I showed her my cards and she selected my card shown in the first picture. Then she went into her bedroom where she has a desk and a 3 drawer bin with all her own scrapbook supplies. Allison came back and forth to my studio to get punches and more paper and brads. She thought of the colors that Megan loves and went with this plaid paper she had. This is what that very mini-me created! I was so proud of her and I was jealous of her color combo as well. :o)

Happy New Year!
Here we go again! Another year has started so fast! The first weekend of the year found me taking down the Christmas decorations and doing some much needed cleaning around the house. We also went to Ikea and picked up a desk for Megan's room for clearance dirt cheap price! Love a good bargain! So today I am catching up on bills, checkbook, filing away 2009 papers and organizing my studio and desk. I hope to work on some creations today.
I made two of these explosion boxes for ladies that are facing troubled time right now. One has re-occuring cancer and the other is watching her husband battle the disease. This is a box of hope for them to look at and put all their worries in the box. Idea was given to me my a co-worker and I just ran with it. My newly acquired retired stamp set gave me the inspiring words...blessings, rejoice, grace and faith. I used some very old retired paper with the Chocolate Chip cardstock. I also used the butterfly die cut. I really like how they turned out and I hope that it gives each woman a little joy in their lives.
