Fantastic Friday...Finally!

I had a pretty BAD BAD week dealing with a heavy issue between my neighborhood and the city I live nearby.  TOO much to get into here but I wanted to let you know that each time I checked my blog this week and saw your super sweet comments on my posts, you all MADE me smile and be happy again!  They really made my day better!  Thank you SO MUCH!
I am heading to Wendy's house today for her annual Weekend at Wendy's!  I have missed the past two years due to church youth commitments but I get to go this year!  Doin the HAPPY DANCE!  This event will definitely cheer me up!  See dear stampin sister friends and meet new ones too! I get to make 10 shoebox swaps and card exchange and learning new things and so much more!  Lots of new creations to share with you all!
I will share the shoebox swap that I am sharing with all of them.  I got this accordian file scrapbook album idea from LeeAnn Greff.  I thought it was really a great idea to have it be displayed and look so darn cute doing it.  It is also a preview of what is coming out in the Summer Mini Catalog from Stampin Up too.  The designer paper is called Island Oasis and the stamp set is called Tropical Party! Love the colors of Tempting Turquiose, Rose Red, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive all together! Summer is here!
Share more of this scrapbook album next week!
Have a magical day!

Last Easter projects - Easel card and Bunny Jar

Here are the projects I made for my family.  I wanted to try my hand at making an easel card that is a hot trend right now.  They are easy to make than it looks like!!!  I was concerned that the receiver would not know how to display it once they opened the envelope.  Sure enough that was the case, but they loved how it displayed!  My card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 and done in Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette, and Sage Shadow.  I used watercolor with classic inks on the flower and used Bitty background stamp for the splattered look.
And then came the bunny jar idea from somewhere and someone I saw but I have forgotten who.  He is basically a total CASE except for the fact that I gave him a cotton ball tail on his behind.  I filled the jars with egg shaped M&Ms. I used punches in shapes to make the bunny face.  I love the bent ear!  Too cute!

Easter Card Catch Up!

I had forgotten to post my Easter creations!  I made this cute mini card for the wonderful people in my church.  This stamped saying is a retired favorite of mine from the stamp set called Faith & Hope.  I do not have the stamp set but trying to find it on Ebay for a good deal.  I just printed this on my computer with cardstock and cut it to size.  Colors are bashful blue, chocolate chip, so saffron and old olive.  The leaves die cut was a little problem as you could only cut one at a time or they would stick together.  I love the dotted texture on the blue. The so saffron DSP is retired Salebration paper from last year.  It was a great one to get and I am trying to use retired paper to make room for newer paper!

Scrapbook Weekend! What fun!

My friend Cathy invited me to come with her to a scrapbook weekend that was put together by Jennifer.  We stayed at the Scrapbook Cabin in Ellijay GA which is just an hour north of us.  It is the perfect place to have a scrapbook get-together!  Price is reasonable too!  Thurs - Sun was $80.00 total and you had to make one meal for 12 people. You have plenty of space for 12, extra supplies and materials, a huge kitchen and living room to gather in, speakers for music, comfortable sleeping arrangements and a beautiful view of the gorgorous tree and open air.  I met up with friends and made new friends too!  I got lots done and even taught some of the ladies on how to make the mini scrapbook that I will be showing this week.
We even booked the cabin for next year already within the first ten minutes of getting there!

I put this MDS digital scrapbook page together for my scrapbook pages of scrapbooking with friends.  Now I am not sure how this would print because the print borders would not be the same.  But I love how it turned out.  I used the Sweet Pea paper and the Medallion stamp.  I color matched the scallop oval to the light aqua in the butterfly.  I would love to try and make this same layout in real material.
I can not wait til next April!
Have a magical day!

Disney Scrapbook Page #9 - Let's Eat at LeCellier!

I just loved these pictures of Allison's sticky gooey chocolate fingers while she was eating her dessert that night out to dinner at LeCellier in Epcot. We had a great meal there and loved at atmosphere of the restaurant.  Good wine list according to my hubs!

I used a Disney paper pack to create this simple page.  I love the Mickey sticker at the corner of the picture. The Title is done on the Cricut in the Disney Font.  I still need to journal in black ink on the Summer Sun Top Note Die Cut.  I feel like something is missing on the bottom half of this page.  But this is where I need to learn that every inch of the page does not have to have something on it! I may balance it out with a 1" strip of real red cardstock horizontal and along the bottom.

Have a magical day!

Disney Scrapbook Page #8 - Girls Night Out in Downtown Disney

One night on our 2005 trip, Howard bought each of us a pretty necklace at the Caribean Resort where we stayed part of our trip that time.  So later that night, we got dressed in our tropical outfits and went to dinner.  After dinner, we went to Downtown Disney for shopping and fun!  Notice that Howard is not in one pictures cause he took all the pictures that night. Hence...GIRLS NIGHT!

The colors and flowers in our outifts helped me select the colors for this page.  Orange, Pink, Lilac and Purple and of course with lots of flowers!  I used punches to create all the flowers: scallop circle, 1" circle, 3/4" circle, 1/2" circle, 5 point flower, boho blossums and small oval for the leaves.  The die cut Butterfly is in the center.  The photos are placed so that I could cut in half between the pages and not cut in the center of a face.  The Top Note Diecuts pieces added are for the title and journaling.  The title was done on the Cricut and some of it was just handwritten.

I am at a scrapbook retreat again this weekend!  I will be working on Disney Christmas 2005 and many other things in the north GA mountains!  Sure you will see them in the near future on my blog!

Have a magical day!

Disney Scrapbook Page #7 - Back to The Whispering Canyon Cafe!

We had so much fun at the Whispering Canyon Cafe that you know we had to go back!  More bandana "hats" and more silly behavior.  You are in Disney and it is ok to act like a kid even if you are the parent!

On this page, I wanted to figure how to put the actual bandana into the page.  We came home with 8 bandanas!  First I thought I would fold it open and apply it to the background with glue.  Or cut it up and piece it on the page.  But this is what I came up with in the end.  The corners are black squares that I just cut to look like the design on the bandana. The photos are cut with zip zap scissors to go with the designs on the bandana.  The picture of the hotel also shows the picture of the restaurant and it is layered with black cardstock.  To get the bandana to attach to the page, I used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes thru the paper and the bandana.  Then I added Hemp Twine to tie it in place.  I did not even have to glue of tape the back of the bandana to stay in place.  The title says it all but I need to do the journaling in black ink in some places.

Have a magical day!

DisneyScrapbook #6 - Ferry Ride

I had these pictures of the ferry ride from our trip that year and did not know what to do with them.  I thought maybe I would not put them in the scrapbook, but we did use the ferry many times because we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge and the girls loved it!  So I came across a similar page in one of the scrapbooking magazines and went for it.

There are many things I like on this page.  First the different font letters on the title " The ferry" which were done on the Cricut in Real Red cardstock.  I used three different fonts and two different sizes. The waves were done on my friend Jamie's CM cutter on a Brocade Blue paper.  I also like the journaling line under the waves.  And last I like my little sailboat.  I could not do a ferry boat but thought a boat is a boat. Right?  It was made with circle punch and square punches just cut to create the sailboat image. The blue Mickey paper was from a Disney paper pack.

Very simple page to make and I am glad I did make this page after all!

Disney Scrapbook #5 - Whispering Canyon Cafe

This page was so fun to create!  It was pretty late in the evening that scrap weekend - say 1:00am when I started this.  I had my music on and saw a page in a scrapbooking magazine that just said " Hey crazy woman - CASE ME!"  It came together so quickly and I got the look of the old west for this page that I wanted.
I first took the Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa ink pads and ran them over the background Brown paper to give it texture and distess.  The designer paper is from a Disney paper pack and sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip.  Next I stamped the Baroque stamp and Baroque Border wheel in Chocolate Chip onto the paper.  I cut Really Rust in the Top Note Die Cut on my Big Shot and added some copper brads.  I used the Cricut to cut out my title.  Then the final piece was the hemp twine for some 3D texture.  I need to finish the journaling in Chocolate Chip marker on the sides of this fun time at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

This restaurant at the Wilderness Lodge is such fun! (they have changed it since then :( BOO!)  They pass out bandanas and make each person a "hat" with straws included. They also have stick horses to ride around the place in a kid "parade" and play some music while other swirl there bandanas in the air.  Allison was not a happy cowgirl when we got there as you can see in the pictures cause she was just getting up from a nap.  When dinner was over, they played with Lincoln Logs near the front.  We got to keep the bandanas too!

Have a magical day!

Mini Scrapbook - Girls Weekend

Today's mini scrapbook is the last of this series.  I plan to use this style mini scrapbook to make more quick weekend trip scrapbooks like this one.  We took the girls over Winter break to the Marriott in Alpharetta.  We all did breakfast at the Original Pancake House with Mimi. Then we went shopping at North Point Mall and stopped at the American Girl Doll store.  Allison got the new doll of the year Lanie.  Then we surprised them by booking the American Girl Package at the Marriott.  Complete with breakfast for four and a very PINK room as you can see in the pictures.  We swam in the indoor pool and went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.  More shopping at the North GA Premium Outlets the next day. It was a very girlie weekend - poor hubby! LOL
The colors are Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink and White. The cover was stamped in Chocolate Chip in the Baroque Border standard wheel.  The flower is done with the eyelet border punch and crimper.  The button just happened to match this as I was looking for a button in my friend Christine's button stash.  Perfect!  The paper is retired and is called Sweet Always.
I still need to finish the journaling on this project and add some embellishments to the inside. Probably matching buttons and bows.
Have a magical day!

Mini Scrapbook - Sweet Pea Baby Girl

This mini scrapbook was made by all my scrap ladies at that SUPERB weekend.  I gave them the Certainly Celery base and Bashful Blue band to get started.  They supplied the papers and embellishments to finish theirs off.  Each one was different and I loved how they came out!  But dummy me forgot to take pictures of them.  But trust me, they were awesome!
I used Pretty in Pink and Pink Passion on mine.  The paper is from my friend Cheryl.  She had this pack of baby style paper and I begged her for the paper with the cute lady bugs on it.  They went perfectly with the new hostess stamp set that I had just got.  I stamped the images with Staz On on White cardstock and then watercolored them with matching classic inks.  The cover is my favorite!
My friend, Rayna finished her with pictures of her boys on the tree theme she did and she gave it as a gift to her mom.  As for mine, I have not filled it yet.  I might fill in with pictures of Allison when she was little.  This would be a great baby girl photo album too!
Have a magical day!

Mini Scrapbook - July 4th

I am just in love with this one the most!  I had this idea in my head and it just came together how I had planned.  I did many "happy dances" as I was making this!  LOL
It is from our last summer July 4th trip to see our dear friends in Mississippi!
The cover is created by using Kraft as the base of the mini scrapbook.  Then I stamped in Baroque stamp with Brocade Blue and the stars are in Riding Hood Red.  Eyelet border punched a piece of 1x6 in Not Quite Navy.  The ribbon is Riding Hood Red Wide Striped ribbon and made like a belly band tied with some Hemp twine in a bow.  The center is a 1 3/4" circle punched from the paper.  I had these chipboard stars and sponged them with Riding Hood Red.  Stamped in same red the July from the Full Calendar set on a sponged piece of paper.  The button is one I had at the time.
The inside is made with paper and envelopes. I had bought some July 4th paper last year at the Scrapbook Expo and used it for the covering over the cream envelopes.  The Riding Hood Red paper act like hinges to open each one.  Then you punch a 1 1/4" circle half way to create tabs for the inserts.  You can see how the inserts pull out in this photo.
I added embellishment of sponged chipboard stars and other images from the paper pack that I bought.  I did manage to do some journaling to complete the book as well.
I was VERY pleased with how this came out as it is a different style for me!
Have a magical day!

Scrapbook Page #4 - Disney Magic Kingdom

It took me a day to recoop from our vacation to Las Vegas last week!  My husband and I went with my BFF and her husband.  We had no kids, sunshine and plenty of fun!!! Vegas has changed so much in the past 14 years since we were there!  Crazy!  The people there are entertainment itself.  I am good for a least ten years before I go back.

So I am going to catch up today and prepare my posts for the week.  I have some very cute mini scrapbooks that I made while I was at my Scrapbook Weekend last month.  We made the scrapbook at my upline Wendy's meeting and I just fell in love with how easy they were to make.  Check back starting tomorrow!

But today I will show you a simple layout with big WOW factor for a Disney Scrapbook.
Rayna, my friend, found this layout in a Creating Keepsake magazine and did it in Black, White and Red like they did.  I thought, hey! those ears would look great like the gold ears from that Celebration of 50 years!  I used the Cricut Disney Font to create the ears (measures 9")  and the disney letters (measures 3").  I used paper, Disney stickers and frames for the journaling area from a 2005 Disney pack.  The white stars are Cricut as well as Stampin Up small star punch. I did not have to cut the pictures at all and lined them all up together.
p.s. Thanks Patti for the Blog Charm!

Have a magical day!
