Tuesday

Well, TODAY is the final day to purchase from the Stampin Up 2009 catalog and the in-colors. Many of the color inks and papers are already sold out. I cased this card from Val again. This is one of my favs! The Fifth Ave Florals stamp set flowers were stamped in Baha Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip on the Baha Breeze card. The paper is from Bella Rose DSP. You can take any three color combo and create this card over and over again. Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Pumpkin Pie would make a great card too! Might need to try that. I will have my new stamps and in colors at my door tomorrow! Excited to get them to show to my best friend and avid stamper this weekend at her home in Mississippi! Have a magical day! Cindy

Made for Monday

I really have fallen in love with the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. It is so versatile and so simple to create a beautiful card in minutes. I used Baha Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black ink for the flowers on a Whisper White. Layer it on black and then Baha Breeze standard card. The sentiment is not a favorite of mine because it depends on how the person getting the card understands the meaning. Not like you could put Happy Birthday inside the card. Let me know if you would use the saying on a card. Have a magical day! Cindy

Wacky Wednesday

I made this card using my two favorite things from the SU Mini catalog that ends on June 30th. The Great Friend stamp set and the Walk in the Park Designer Paper. I even ordered an extra pack of the paper. Stampin Up recently made an annoucement to us demos to stock up or keep stock on the retiring in colors as they may be used in future. What that means is questionable. Does not matter cause I would keep these colors anyways. I love 2008-2009 In Colors: Baha Breeze,Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango and have grown to love Pacific Point. I cased this card from Val here: http://valeriestangle.blogspot.com/ Check out her cards! She is so talented. Instead of her ribbon piece like her card did, I just used a piece of basic gray cardstock. I made the So Saffron and Kiwi Kiss with basic gray examples in this card as well. Just a beautiful card layout! Have a magical day! Cindy

Move forward Monday

Introducing the NEW Stampin Up In Colors for 2009-2010 catalog! Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Dusty Durango. Yes, interesting names, huh? They are very bold and bright this time around. But what about the colors? What do you think? Which is your favorite of the bunch? (my fav - see my name) The new Stampin Up catalog comes out on July 1st! You can view it online on that day. The catalog was coming out every 6 months and now with this catalog it will be yearly. So happy about that! Have a magical day! Cindy

Father's Day Friday

It's Tool Time for all the fathers out there! This card was created by using my SU punches. I am taking part of online class called Simply Punches Three offered by Heather Summers, the Punch Art Queen herself! (Such fun!) What a great Father's Day card to make! The textured background is using the paper crimper in both directions and flattening out and then trimming the paper for the card. You use a variety of punches - 1 3/8" circle, Word Window, Arrow, Key Tag, Small Oval and 1 1/4" Square. Colors used are Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red, More Mustard and Black. You could even put "Happy Birthday" on this card with a Home Depot Gift Card for a special man in your life! For all the Fathers out there... Have a magical day! Cindy

Retiring Stamp Set Thursday

Today's last post on retired stamp sets is very sad to me. This set called Heartfelt Thanks is one of the main reasons I started stamping with Stampin Up over 5 years ago. I went to a friend's workshop and Kristin (my former SU Demo) used this set to create a beautiful card. I fell in love with it and had to get the stamp set. It is a two-step stamping process which is so easy to do. First you stamp the full image and then you stamp the lines image on top. You can see it is the flower and how it is a layered but not quite perfectly either. I used Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip. I also used the stamp set called Itty Bitty Backgrounds for the textured spots around the flower. So as of June 30th, Heartfelt Thanks will no longer be available unless you search on Ebay. I will not be selling mine though cause I love it too much! Have a magical day! Cindy

Retiring Stamp Set Wednesday

The other day I was looking on a demo's website and saw this great card using the Big Deal Letters. I love that letters set and it is retiring on June 30th. I had done some previous cards with a 4 letter word like LOVE and then the script saying over it. The another saying is from retiring stamp set, Absolutely Fabulous. The flower is from the retiring hostess set Goody Goody Gumdrops. The colors are Baha Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point. All of them are gone at the end of this month!!! The card is an odd size (2.75x 6.5) and envelopes are not made to fit it, so I will probably use it as a tag on a gift bag. Have a magical day! Cindy

Retiring Stamp Set Tuesday

Today's retired stamp set is called Happy Heart Day. Even though it is more a Valentine's stamp set, you could easily changed to an everyday card like this one. I also love the thank you saying and the valentine tag from this set as well. This card was made with Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. Elephant is Basic Gray - not retiring. However pretty much all the materials to make this card will retire on June 30th. Awesome striped grosgrain ribbon too. :o( This card layout is from Heather, amazing talented demo. I watercolored with classic ink and aqua painter on the elephant. Very bright and happy card. Off to work on some new projects coming up on the blog! And a 3 part class coming in July, August and September! Have a magical day! Cindy

Retiring Stamp Set Monday

With the Last Chance List that came out on June 1st, I went straight to my stamps and pulled out my retiring stamp sets. I decided to blow off the dust on them and make some new cards. Several of these sets are my favorites, so it makes me sad to see them go. This card is using Perfect Princess and Hugs&Wishes. The colors are Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and the retiring Pink Pirouette. I cut out the crown and added rhinestones and one punch trio flower. The white organza ribbon is very old retired from SU! too. Last day to get these stamp sets is June 30th! Finally some pictures to share of my baby girl and her best birthday present ever! (seems like she hated it! HA!) And then both of my girls at their dance recital. They did such a great job! FYI for family members - my Dad just got back safe and sound from his 2 weeks on motorcycle across USA and had a great time besides the rainy day rides. Have a magical day! Cindy

Festive Friday

This is the last retired hostess set example that I want to show you this week. This is a post it note holder that holds just half a 3 x 3 sticky notepad. You can see how to make this over at Angie Juda's website here: http://www.mychicnscratch.com/2009/04/post-it-note-holder.html She has a video tutorial for it. (LOVE HER!) I used a 3 3/8" x 8 1/2" piece of Kiwi Kiss and folded in half. Then ran folded end in the crimper for three turns. I punched a scallop circle out in Chocolate Chip. The butterfly is from Martha Stewart and punched out in Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. (wish Stampin Up had a butterfly PUNCH) Added the grosgrain Chocolate Chip ribbon in a simple knot. I used the Hostess set called Sweet Little Sentiments and Pacific Point ink. I made Angie's red apple post it note holder for staff at our school. See here:http://www.mychicnscratch.com/2009/04/congrats-susan.html This are so easy to make so give it a try! I made like 12 of them in 30 minutes! Tip: You can omit the crimper part if you do not have it. Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Tip Thursday

I was reading on Mouseplanet some of the Disney news and articles and I found one that hit my memory bank. Back in 1989, hubby and I went on our first vacation together. Guess where we went? DISNEYWORLD! (funny to think about how Disney nuts I am NOW) We stayed off Hwy 192 at the Days Inn and bought a 4 day pass each. You could return one day pass for your money back if you did not use the 4th day. MGM (Hollywood) Studios had just opened that summer. And hubby took me to a character breakfast on the Empress Lilly with Mickey and the whole gang. Hubby was so excited to be there! Of course, we were the ONLY one in the place WITHOUT kids! Weird thing to see back then at a character breakfast. Now you ALWAYS see adults without kids at them! I can remember what I was wearing, seeing the families all around me, how tired I was cause it was 8am and standing outside the giant ferry boat waiting to get on and how quiet the area was around it. Not anymore! Downtown Disney is always packed and now Empress Lilly is Fulton's Crab House. Back in 1995, Disney leased it out and they changed the whole image and story. Not that I am complaining cause I love Fulton's Crab House. We have been many times and highly recommend it! Yummy seafood! Love the dip they give recipe out for, too. Anywoo, I saw this article and found the 30+ year history of the Empress Lilly very interesting, so I wanted to share it. http://www.mouseplanet.com/8822/The_Empress_Lilly_Story By the way, Empress Lilly was named after Walt Disney's wife, Lilly. So sweet! Have a magical day! Cindy

Wacky Wednesday

HELLO THERE! This card set was again made from a project from UStamp. You made a card box and 5 cards. I selected to show you this card since it was my favorite of the bunch. I use the retiring Level 3 hostess set called Goody Goody Gumdrops. I love the little images and sayings so much! I used the retired Cutie Pie designer paper series and the colors in it: So Saffron, Rose Red, Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue. I watercolored in classic ink on the images. Love this project in using one DSP pack and versatile one stamp set for the challenge. Simple! Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Tip Tuesday

Magic Kingdom Opening Show
Did you know that if you arrive at the parks before opening then you get to see a special show in honor of the day opening? I knew Animal Kingdom had a show -each morning at 15 minutes before the schedule opening time, you can go through the turn styles and head to the Tree of Life area. Soon, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy arrive to welcome you to the park! Soon Mickey appears and gets on the truck and you can follow them into Harambe as the Adventure Begins in the Animal Kingdom! I just found out that Magic Kingdom now has a similar show. All Ears blogger Jack Spence has a wonderful detailed blog post that you should check out here: http://land.allears.net/blogs/jackspence/2009/05/magic_kingdom_opening_show_1.html
He says quote "This show sets the mood for your day to come. If you haven’t already seen it, I strongly suggest dragging yourself out of bed a little early one morning and make the effort. You’ll be glad you did. "
Dragging Howard out of the bed that early while on vacation would be the problem!

Made for Monday

Good Morning! All this week I will be showcasing this present Spring-Summer 09 catalog's hostess sets. When you do a workshop over $150 and up then you get to select a special limited offer stamp set for free!
This is a Level 2 hostess set called A Little Somethin'. This is my very own design. I used the "rock star" image for this card. I love the skulls but some do not like them so I made this with another paper style as well. Great for a teenager's birthday card! I used Riding Hood Red, Black and retired Spooky DS paper. The Riding Hood Red striped grosgrain ribbon which I love and is retiring. The birthday sentiment is stamped in White Craft ink.
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Allison's birthday and the dance recital. I hope to get some pictures downloaded today and post them tomorrow.
Have a magical day!

Fun Friday!

Here is a birthday party invitation that I made when we thought about having a ice cream party for Allison. The idea came from Angie Juda's blog. She is so crazy talented. Basically to make the ice cream, you punch out 3 scallop circles and cut off the bottom 5 scallops to make the scoops. You then take a square punch in Close to Cocoa, cut edges at diagonal and run it thru your crimper in one direction and then in another. Sponge the edges of everything in Close to Cocoa and assemble together. This designer paper background is Candy Lane which is retiring. :o( and the Pink Pirouette color is also retiring :o( Off to a birthday skating party! Have a magical day! Cindy

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

My sweet baby girl Allison is turning 7 today! The last couple of days, I have been telling her that she is turning six and has to stay my baby. She screams back at me "SEVEN!" It is a hoot! She is soooo wanting to be the big seven year old!
This card I cased from a talented lady off Splitcoaststampers. Do I remember her name? Nope. (I need to start writing them down to give proper credit- sorry) Anyhow, I love how she used the Bella Dotted paper and the color combo of Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red. The stamp set is a Level 3 Hostess set that is retiring with the catalog on June 30th.
Fitting card since Allison wanted a ice cream party for her birthday party this year. Instead she is having a rolling skating party on Friday and then ice cream birthday cake with family on Saturday. She is so excited!
Have a magical day!

Wild Wednesday

I bet you are wondering what happen to Tuesday? Let's just say the day was a wash for this blogger. So this HUGE post for today should make up for it! HAHA! This is a set I made during UStamp online class. You saw the matching desktop display last Friday. It was my very first use with Rub-ons and I wonder now what took me so long to try them. I used Baha Breeze, Kraft and Black in the color combo. I have made recently this same complete set in Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Kraft. Then Wild Wasibi, So Saffron and Kraft.
I just love this box because you use a 8.5" x 11" to make the box bottom and a 6" x 6" to make the lid. It is so simple to make! I could make several boxes to sell at my craft shows with cards! Or maybe a class!
I must tell you that if you stamp and need inspiration or some stampin mojo, then sign up for a UStamp class! You get to keep the pdfs and make them whenever you want! The UStamp Blinkie will lead it to the details about it!
Have a magical day!

Mad Monday

I just looked at the Stampin Up Last Chance Stamp List and Accessories List and I am MAD! Some of my favorite stamp sets are going going gone by June 30th! Then there are a bunch of stamp sets that I wanted that will be gone as well! MAD, I tell you! (sorry for the rant) If you are interested in seeing the retiring items, check them out here: http://www.stampinup.com/us/enu/default.asp and let me know if you want to place an order. Remember all the In-Colors ink pad and paper will be gone as well. I also got to see a sneak peak at the new In Colors and stamp sets for the new SU! catty coming out on July 1st and I am puzzled on what to think of them at this moment. I just need to see them in person and in the new catty with samples and maybe I will fall in love with them then.

So I am working on some cards today with my almost gone stamp sets to show you this week on what we will be missing come June 30th!

Have a magical day!
