MDS Blog Hop - Punchy!

I have to say that I cheated a little bit on this challenge. But I was playing with a beta version of the new MDS2 that we got at Convention (pretty cool huh?) and ran across this totally awesome punch template! Really I found it on the new feature called Designer Template Selection, #49 feature on the list they gave us of all 75 new features! You are able to search all your downloaded templates in one search area! FANTASTIC, huh?
Want to see more of MDS2 features? This page shows a bunch more. #10 Crop stamp image - the "new" is part of a stamp image that actually says Happy New Year. #29 Recolor Embellishments - the ribbon is recolored in Summer Starfruit and the rhinestone is recolored in Pool Party. # 40 - Text Tracking is where I was able to space my text lines even more.
So what does this page have to do with punches you ask? There are really 55 punches on this page! The chevron line are all made of the single chevron punch. Then the "friends" are in punch letters. Aly said to use as many punches we could. Well, I did!
The best part of this page is the photo of my new friends and I. Some of us MDS Blog Hop designers were able to meet up at Convention. With our crazy busy schedule too! That's Rochelle (with sweet baby Hannah), Erica, Holly, Jeanna and me! We missed Mandy, Heather and Aly for the pic. :( Next year! Hopefully Amber, Terri and Julie will be there too! Love you all!
I wanted to take a minute and thank Erica for coming up with this MDS Blog Hop nearly a year ago! For inviting all of us to join her! For this has opened doors for many of us to share our love of this wonderful program. This also has created new friendships and kindred spirits in the digital designing world. THANK YOU ERICA!
And THANK YOU for stopping by today! We could not do this without YOU!

MDS Blog Hop Friday - Sketch Challenge LIVE

Hi Everyone! I am LIVE from Stampin Up Convention! I have been having an overload of fun here! I have been learning new ideas, making new friends and seeing dear friends that I love to pieces, laughing so hard, eating yummy food, walking walking walking and best of all...learning that MDS2 is coming on August 1st!  We got a sneak peak of it (bonus as a demo) and IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY! If you have never tried MDS, YOU MUST TRY IT! It is FREE for a 30 day trial starting Aug 1st so DO IT!
Back to why you came, this week's challenge was brought to us by Terri. You can see it at gotsketch here. I wanted to keep the page simple because I love that photo of my niece so much! (And yes, she did not eat that whole cupcake) I did add more of the details like the sketch however it just looked overloaded. I like simple. Did you notice the background is white? Yes, another white background page. I tried to change it but I am limited on the DSP at the moment (long story). So....
Thanks for stopping by!

MDS Blog Hop - Color Challenge

Amber's Color Challenge: Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Primrose Petals, Going Gray, Summer Starfruit and Pool Party. Use some or all of these colors together :)  hmmmm....
So I got them all BUT the Pacific Point. I could just not make it fit into this page.
I really like how this page turned out but I think my favorite part is the background overlay. It is the Decorative Overlays - Swirl Stripes in Summer Starfruit. I also used the Designer Kit - Earth Laughs for the Title and Border which is in Wild Wasabi (just a hint of color to accomplish the color challenge :P heehee). A bargain at $1.95 for a wonderful simple kit. I also like the Bitty Flower punches in Primrose Petals spread over the page.

I liked this layout so much that I made another page with it with a Stampin Up Convention theme in mind. Inspired by the Stampin Up name bag and event tickets!  I can not wait to fill it with three or six fun photos that capture my wonderful week with friends as we share and learn together!
I will hopefully be sharing a highlight from each day next week on here. (fingers crossed)
Thanks for stopping by!

MDS Blog Hop Friday - Monochromatic 2

Terri brought us the "monochromatic" challenge this week. Last time we did this challenge, I went with a cream and brown tone on a page and stuck to the monochromatic rule. Let us just say that I started with a monochromatic theme and then added pops of color. Label me a rule breaker! :) Did some research on definition of "monochromatic in scrapbooking" and it varies in ways I did not know. Learn something new each day!

Overall, I love how this page turned out! I used the Piece of Cake CD, Decorative Overlays - Starburst and Word Play stamp set. The B in HB embellsihment is covered by the P stamp image. Color filled with Island Indigo, copied, paste in place and then flipped to cover all of the B of the original B. You do what you gotta do to make it work in MDS.

I will print this page and place it in my girls' birthday book. You can see more of the past birthday pages HERE and HERE and HERE.
Thanks for stopping by!

Recapping the past 6 months II

The recapping continues....here are May, June AND July! Now July is designed and ready to add pictures to it but for now I just added some general photos.  I also might change some of the second pages to "match" the recap pages a little better or maybe not.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous 4TH of JULY!

Recapping the past 6 months...

I can not believe it has been 6 months of 2012 already! Back in January I started my 2012 monthly recap in MDS 12x12 pages. Here is the basic layout that I created to follow for each of the months. You could do this also in regular scrapbooking. It is a great way to capture monthly moments of the year and keep as a yearly album and you do not have to create a new design each month. This year I am doing a recap page like below and then adding an additional sorta of matching page next to it that features my favorite picture or moment of the month. Here are Jan- Apr with two page spreads. Some of the pages you may have seen on my Blog Hop Fridays.

Be back Wednesday to show you May - July recap pages!
Yes, even July is pre-done!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope this inspires you to make
monthly recap pages!
