MDS Blog Hop - My Sunshine Baby Boy

WELCOME TO THE MDS BLOG HOP!
A bunch of us have joined together to share our passion for digital designing with Stampin' UP's My Digital Studio.  These ladies are SERIOUSLY talented in MDS and I am thrilled to be on this Blog Hop with them! You will find us blog hopping on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month! We will have a "theme" selected on the first hop and then a "What we are doing in MDS" on the second hop. I have been working on pages from my latest Disney trip but I made time to make a page of this sweet baby boy.
One day while watching my godson, I took some pictures of him cause he was just so stinkin cute and I wanted to remember him at this age too. I remember taking pictures of both of my girls at his age on the belly playing with toys. They grow up so fast! Snuff snuff.

I used a combination of elements from all over my library of downloads. My friend Amber does lovely work with this style and I was challenged to give it a try here. So here is my very long supply list:

High Tide GIVEAWAY= Artisan WOW

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! We have an extra special GIVEAWAY for you this week! This High Tide Product Suite in the 2014 Occasions Catalog had me at AHOY!  I was able to make a whole set of baby boy nautical projects with the High Tide Designer Series Paper and the Hello, Sailor Stamp Set. You can do the same! Do not miss the boat, you can win these great products right here!

On this card: I just ran lines with my Calypso Coral Stampin' Up Write Marker across the card base. I used the Circle Collection Framelits to cut my life preserver shape. To get the stamp images to line up, use your Stamp-a-ma-jig!
This is the Mini Muslin Bag! I took out the drawstring and hot glued the ribbons onto the bag. Now it is a mini tote gift bag!
I took the Burlap Ribbon and wreath base from the Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit to use here. The flowers were used on other project to share soon! I used the Banner Framelits Dies to make the banner across my wreath.
This boat was actually free standing but then I decided to add it to the wreath. See the sail mast? That is a rolled piece of the High Tide DSP!  I used the Circle Collection Framelits Dies to make the bottom of the boat. Cut a simple triangle with the DSP and Whisper White cardstock and cut a slit for the mast to go thru. The Bitty Banners Framelits Dies helped finish off the top and name plate.
More Banner Framelits Dies with this great High Tide DSP make a great layered thank you card!  I used two of the Hello Sailor Stamp Set images all together with the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to try the High Tide Suite before time runs out!

I have been using these scrapbook page sketches to get my recent Disney trip in MDS to print!  I used some of the rectangle parts as photo boxes to capture parts of our morning at the MK.  The others I filled with Big Top Birthday DSP. I left the background white to make the DSP and photos stand out on the page.

Did you hear that Stampin' Up is offering FREE SHIPPING this week April 21st - 25th and that it INCLUDES MDS Printing!!!! Be still my heart! I gotta get this photo album done fast and get some other projects printed as well!

Love This Scrapbook Page

Today I wanted to share a page that I made using some of my favorite things that I love from the 2014 Occasions Catalog and a favorite picture of me with my baby girl Alli. Remember back in January when I posted this clever little gem?
I wanted to try and make a scrapbook page with the same rubber circle template. I used Smoky Slate Stampin Up Write Marker on a 12x12 Smoky Slate Cardstock. I just added the circles til I filled the page. Then I just took some of my favorite products to add the finishing layers. The color combo is Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.
My favorite things on this page:
Perfect Pennants Stamp Set
Essentials Wooden Elements
Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon
Ampersand Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
Angled Tag Topper Punch
Coordinations Cardstock Smoky Slate
Paper Doilies
My Digital Studio download Moments Ago - A MUST HAVE!
and using my e-cutter to create the title love this

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

Springtime Hello Gift Boxes - Artisan WOW

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! We are working on to our April box of Stampin' UP products from the 2014 Occasions Catalog! We got two Simply Created Kits in our box and I wanted to do something out of the box with them. Here is the Springtime Hello Simply Created Garland Kit and next week I will show you what I did with the Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit. You just came from the super funny Cathy Caines and next is the super sweet Connie Collins, but before you come check out my trio of decorated gift boxes and matching 3x3 cards using this one kit below!

I took the Calypso Coral Baker's Twine and place it around the large gift box a couple of times. Then I took the adhesive different size dots from the kit and place them where I wanted them. I punch the Silver Foil Sheet with the 3/4" circle punch to add some silver shine like the other box es have on them.
I took the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum sheets of striped and dotted and wrapped my small boxes. I used the mini clothespins from the kit to hold my tags to the ribbon.
The 3x3 cards are super simple and cute!
I used more tags and Natural Designer Buttons from the kit to make them.
Here they are filled with goodies and the coordinating card for whoever I need a thank you gift for. Friends? Teachers? Co-workers? Fellow Artisan Design Team members?  I will need a few more completed boxes! Better get busy!
Be sure to stop by Stampin' Up Facebook page on this Friday and our Artisan Blog Hop next week as we have a special offer for YOU!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #62

It is my turn this week to bring the card sketch. I went with the angled trend that seems to catch my eye lately. I made the sketch with a general word across the card which you can replace with any word. I choose to make my card for some dear friends that are moving in the next few months. So it is a congratulations to their new adventure! I will need to make a MISS YOU version of this card after they have gone. (tear)

You can give the challenge a try and submit your own page if you click on the MDS Monday button on the right side! Follow the directions on the site to upload your page and link it from your blog or MDS.net. Winners and honorable mentions are announced every two weeks.

Epic Day This and That Scrapbook Page

Here is a page I made awhile back but wanted to share as this warmer weather gets us thinking about summer traveling. I used the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper with Coaster Board. Did you know that you can use the framelits dies on the Coaster Board to cut it? YES! I used the Square Framelits to cut out my Polaroid frame and the Circle Framelits to cut the circle embellishment on the bottom. The cameras and arrows from the Around the World stamp set were hand cut. I used MDS to create the word on my photo image and printed from home. I just dragged the photo to a 8.5x11 project, changed to the size I wanted and then added a text font to the top of the photo. The font is called Return to Sender and is a fav of mine. I think this would make a great first page in a scrapbook as like a title page or introduction to the trip.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

MDS Blog Hop - Spring Ready

WELCOME TO THE MDS BLOG HOP!
A bunch of us have joined together to share our passion for digital designing with Stampin' UP's My Digital Studio.  These ladies are SERIOUSLY talented in MDS and I am thrilled to be on this Blog Hop with them! You will find us blog hopping on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month! We will have a "theme" selected on the first hop and then a "What we are doing in MDS" on the second hop. The theme this month is Easter or Spring! I am not ready quite yet for the first but I am ready for the second!
Have you ever heard of the style BOKEH?

In photographybokeh (Originally /ˈbkɛ/, /ˈbk/ boh-kay — also sometimes heard as /ˈbkə/ boh-kə, Japanese: [boke]) is the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light".

I have been wanting to try this in MDS so I thought this was the perfect time to try.
The background is Soft Sky. I then added the confetti image from the Cake and Ice Cream download. It comes on the page small so I just enlarged it to the size circles I wanted.  It makes it more pix-elated but I like that! Then I changed it to Whisper White and changed the opacity to 20 percent.  I copied and pasted the image again. This time I rotated it to the right and changed the opacity to 40 percent. I did this at least two to three more times rotating and changing opacity til I filled the page to my liking. Give it a try!

Then it was just filling in with some great embellishments and stamps paired with one perfect photo of me and my baby girl!  The picture was the inspiration for the color combo of Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black. I loved using the wood elements for the flag and photo mat. Under that mat is the OOPS part on the wood. Recolored the brads and wood heart too! The butterflies and flower gives it that "spring" feeling!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

Big Wish Birthday Card - Artisan WOW

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! We are moving on to our April box of Stampin' UP products from the 2014 Occasions Catalog! This box was full of STAMP SETS!!! So get ready to see some exciting stuff this month! We hope you stay with our Artisan Design Team Blog Hop to inspire you! You just came from Cathy Caines and next is Connie Collins, but before you come check out my Big Wish Birthday cards.
I just thought this stamp set called Big Wish was perfect to make some birthday cards to have on hand!  I first started out with the soft subtles color card.  I used Pistacho Pudding, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pool Party. I tried something new that I saw on Stampin Up website for a watercolor look. You can see it HERE. You can see close up how it makes the water spots in the ink.
Then on this bold and bright card using Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise, I just did straight ink on the balloons. Love the Smoky Slate for a neutral on any card these days! Might be my new favorite color! The color combo possibilities is endless on this layout. Just pick your favorite colors and stamp away!
Some of my favorite things on these cards:
The texture embossing folders on the card base: Chevron and Fancy Fan.
The Smoky Slate Chervon Ribbon!
The flag banner - I used Smoky Slate Write Marker to color in part of the stamp and then stamped in multi-colors with the happy birthday stamp.
I hand cut out the Smoky Slate garland stamp image and popped it up on dimensionals.
I added the paper doily crumbled up to soften the card more.
The button and Baker's Twine is tied around the garland cut image.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope this inspires you to make a few birthday cards with this stamp set!
Be sure to come back next week's blog hop too! The Artisan Design Team has a super special surprise for you all thanks to Stampin Up! You do not want to miss it!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #61

I just got back from vacation and while gone I took some time to myself to get some digital scrapbooking done. It was heavenly! I had Tara's sketch to work from to complete one of the pages of our last Disney trip in September 2013. We love going to Epcot and seeing the countries. Mexico is one of our favorites for the food, drinks and shopping.

I love the layered photos. I used the Purple Passion Kit download and recolored the pattern DSP to Calypso Coral. The brush images are from the Geometrical Stamp download. My favorite part is the multi-coloring of the New Mexico brush image from Nifty Fifty download! I cropped it to just Mexico and then colored it in free hand with the Coloring Tool. Give it a try on your next MDS project!

You can give the challenge a try and submit your own page if you click on the MDS Monday button on the right side! Follow the directions on the site to upload your page and link it from your blog or MDS.net. Winners and honorable mentions are announced every two weeks.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you today to get into MDS Mondays and our challenges!

Leadership Geometric Scrapbook Page

Today is the last of my Leadership samples! I am so thankful to Stampin Up for asking our team to do the display samples for their Leadership Conference in January. It really pushed me creatively and I feel like I did some of my best work. I hope that the participants took away something from our Artisan Design Team's work and was able to be inspired and excited about Sale-A-Bration and the Occasions Catalog this year!

The Geometric Stamp Set was offered to demos at Leadership for a Make-n-Take. We were to showcase samples of other ideas to use with the stamp set.  I want to show how you can take this hard graphic stamp set and make it a softer look. As soon as I saw the wording CHEER UP BUTTERCUP, I knew right away what photo to use! Love my Alli girl!
Some of my favorite things on this page:
I stamped the triangles in Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Strawberry Slush. I hand cut them out because we did not have the triangle punch out yet. You can get it now!!!!
The stitching on the page - I added the triangles in place with adhesive and then just ran the page thru my sewing machine leaving the thread ends out.
The use of the Paper Doilies to soften the page.
The pop of Bermuda Bay DSP on the bottom of the page.
The Gorgeous Grunge stamp in Smoky Slate for a bit of splatter.
I hope that you like my scrapbook page and can use it to inspire you!
Thank you for joining me these past few weeks here and
seeing all that I made for Stampin Up Leadership Conference!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

So Very Grateful Card - Artisan WOW

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! We are moving on to our April box of Stampin' UP products from the 2014 Occasions Catalog! This box was full of STAMP SETS!!! So get ready to see some exciting stuff this month! We hope you stay with our Artisan Design Team Blog Hop to inspire you! You just came from Cathy Caines and next is Connie Collins, but before you come check out my design inspired So Very Grateful card.
( I volunteered to do the blog buttons this month! I used the beautiful download called Blossoms Abound.)
What do you get when you take home decor inspiration,
a masking tape technique and a beautiful spring stamp set?
Stampin Up posted this picture on their Pinterest page and I immediately loved the pool party and white wide striped design. I had seen several samples of these masking tape technique and was wanting to try it myself. I love the textured look of it. It is not hard to do at all!  Then I took just one of the several awesome stamp sets in our April box called So Very Grateful. Immediately you would think to watercolor on those flowers like many are doing but I wanted a softer look so I just stamped it in the same Pool Party ink.
Some of my favorite things on this card:
The On Film Framelits Dies and made my own viewfinder and placed it slightly angled off the card.
The combination of the two stamp images from the So Very Grateful Stamp set where one can be cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelit Dies.
The Itty Bitty Punch Pack flowers with the dotted center in Basic Gray.
I used the cute Ampersand clip from the Hardware Clips Essentials.
And of course the Calypso Coral Baker's Twine!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

Leadership Geometric Love Card

The Geometric Stamp Set was offered to demos at Leadership for a Make-n-Take. We were to showcase samples of other ideas to use with the stamp set.
I really love this card! So simple and easy to make! A WOW workshop card for sure!
Some of my favorite things on this card:
The dotted background was created with the circle stamp in the set. I stamped off to get the multi tone look. Smoky Slate is my favorite color!
The hearts! I stamped the dotted triangle stamp in Strawberry Slush first and then punched them out with the small heart punch. Fancy!
The scallop trim piece in Crushed Curry on the bottom of the tag.
The Chalk Talk Framelits which were used after I stamped the sentiment for easy placement.
The Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon! About to retired in soon! :(

I hope that you like my card and can use it to inspire you! Check back soon for more Leadership display samples! Just ONE more to share!
Thanks for stopping by!
