My Winning Artisan Entry - Day 9

Hope you are having a great day! You just hopped from Cathy's blog!
That lady is so talented! Love her style!

I am SO EXCITED to share this Artisan Entry with you!  It was a complete labor of love spanning 4 months of designing, rethinking, planning, researching and finally creating!
I first created the layout below in My Digital Studio with the Custom setting to the size of my canvas (24" x 28") and then added the stamp brush image of the USA states from Nifty Fifty download.
Then added the punched state sized to match and filled with Parker's Patterns DSP. That took some time making the patterns compliment each other.
Then I matched the Very Vanilla color in acrylic paint to cover the canvas adding Crumb Cake Refill Ink to create some darker shades on the edges. I took several pages of the printed states and made state templates to hand cut my layer of cardstock and DSP. Yes I said hand cut, no e-cutter here! I then added them with Tombow glue and dimensionals. Some are popped higher than others. I added the Epic Day This and That washi tape with numbers as flags on yellow sewing pins. The 10 pins represent my family's Top 10 bucket list of places to go and have gone. You know Disney is one of them! I placed the clip heart over Georgia to represent our home state. The quote clip has "hello" on California. We hope one day soon to get over that way! Then to complete my Americana artwork, I added the Alphabet letters die cuts for the fun saying and the banners with the Hearts A Flutter flag framelit and pennant punch embossed with chevron folder.

I got pretty emotional when I saw this on the display boards at Convention. Watching several people see it, commenting on it and taking pictures of it was a proud moment.

So will I make another one for my family and I to have?
YOU BET! But this time, with an e-cutter! :)

Now continue to hop along to Connie's blog!  She is amazing in all she does! She inspires me!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope this inspired you today!

  4. This was very cool! I had fun last year sneaking up on people and trying to hear what they were saying about my stuff, lol! At least it was labeled last year. I was kind of bummed they didn't say who's was who's 3-D stuff this year!
