MBS Blog Hop - Rise and Shine Journal

Welcome back to the MDS Blog Hop! We are going to show you this week what we all have been working on in MDS so you can get a lot of new ideas and inspiration!
As part of the Artisan Design Team, we get a box full of Stampin' UP goodies. We even get some MDS downloads too! So today I want to show you what I created with the download we got.

I used the Rise and Shine download (134841) at a cool price of $5.95.  This download contains the new trendy pocket cards that you see out there in scrapbooking. However, I took the embellishments/stamps and created a new notebook journal for me!  I included a picture of me on mine, but you can see how I changed it below to be for anyone. I put my favorite twist on it by creating the title with the stamp images of wording together. I also copied the background part and paste in place for the back cover of my journal to match.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you today!

Artisan Wednesday Wow - Happy Undefined

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! You just came from Cathy Caines and next is Connie Collins, but before you go check out my newest happy thing to do!
When Stampin' UP announced at Convention about this new fun creative outlet called Undefined, I was scared and excited all in one!  Then it came in our first Artisan Design Team box, I got really scared! What to do? Would I do it right? Could I make it look like I want it to? I am sure many of you are thinking the same thing about this product. I have seen countless samples out there and oh my, they are awesome! But still doubted MY ability.

For my last Artisan project this month, I just got it out and wanted to start with something simple. I have always doodled smiley faces so it started there. The carving is a little tricky at first so start slow and carve a little at a time until you get the flow of it. The idea is that it is suppose to be rough and look handmade not perfect like the stamps we buy.
I love my little happy face which my daughter pointed out that it looks similar to the smiling school of fish in Finding Nemo movie.  I had to laugh!  I used it to create a pattern background on my card. It works with the stamp from Yippee Skippee. (131344 clear, 131341 wood) The color combo is Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler and Coastal Cabana. Bright and fun!
Once you get your first stamp created, you WILL want to make more! So give it a try!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you today!

Hello Circles!?

When I was in Utah back in July, I went to my Stampin' UP! upline's home for a 2 day retreat with friends. We had lots of projects to do but we also had some downtime to just play. What fun! Wendy has a studio full of every item in SU! so it was so fun to create on a whim! Here is one card I created.

I started out with that piece of white cardstock and I had a thought to make circles.
Guess how I made them?  With the end of our Stampin markers!
I just dabbed it into our juicy ink pads in Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana. Add in random pattern. Then I just added it popped up on the striped embossed Crushed Curry cardstock. The scallop edge is actually punches placed off the edge of the paper. Should have centered it a little more but it was like 2am when I made this. ;) yawn

I am going to start posting a little more often other projects each day besides our Artisan posts so I hope that you will stop by again and see what I have created. Hopefully it will inspire you even more!  Thanks for all your wonderful comments on my blog lately! They truly make my day!

Artisan Wednesday WOW - Little INSPIRED notebooks

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! You just came from Cathy Caines and next is Connie Collins, but before you go check out my cute little notebooks I made!
These are so easy to make!
You will need:
1 - 8.5x11 sheet of any color cardstock scored and folded in half at 5.5"
1 - 4 x 8.5 piece of Designer Series Paper (here shown Quatrefancy Specialty 130141) scored and folded in half at 2"
1 - 5 x10.5 piece of White Vellum Cardstock (101856) scored and folded in half at 5.25"
6 sheets of regular copy paper cut 8.5x10.5 folded in half at 5.25"

Layer all together as shown. Using a paper piercer, poke two holes thru the layers and string White Baker's Twine (124262) thru the holes twice and tie into bow on the outside of notebook.

Now embellish as desired!
 I used the following:
ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers stamp set (130565)
Natural Composition Specialty DSP (126917)
Tea Lace Doilies (129399)
Full Heart Punch (119883)
Scallop Edge Border Punch (119882)
Brights Designer Buttons (130028)
Epis Day Washi Tape (131269)
Gingham Garden Washi Tape (129314)

Artisan Wow - Facebook Friday Special Edition

Today Stampin' Up! posted our very first Facebook projects for all to see! Just a little giddy about seeing everyone's work out there! Did Cathy inspire you with her amazing project? AM-AZING!  Super proud and honored to be on this year's Artisan design team!
I went a little overboard with this first one but I had so much fun creating this little combo. I selected the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper, Gold Foil Sheet, and Mini Muslin Bags to showcase among many other products. How well they work all together! They make a wonderful matching gift package and a card for someone special at any age!
Gold is so trendy HOT right now and using embossing to a right way to get that gold look! I used Versamark Pad and the Gold Emboss Powder on many parts of the card. With the clear mount Post Morning Numbers stamp set, I just selected the age I wanted to use and placed them very closely together on the block. Then I embossed on Basic Black with the Label Love stamp set. The new Artisan punch and Deco Collection Framelit Dies helped to cut them out perfectly. I just love our new Envelope Liner Framelits Dies too! Nice finish on a Very Vanilla envelope to complete the set.
Ok, these Mini Muslin Bags are so versatile! I just took the Metallic Gold Ink Pad and a sponge dauber straight to the bag. I then made some flags with the Modern Medley DSP with Linen thread. I used a sewing needle to tie the thread to the bag. Just need to get some trendy gold bangle bracelets or earrings to complete this gift!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you today!

MDS Blog Hop - Back to School Already!

INTRODUCING A BRAND NEW MDS BLOG HOP TEAM TOO!
Welcome Cori Kozak and Julie Davidse!
Both have joined us in the past as monthly guest bloggers and we decided to ask them to join us to complete our NEW team of 10 MDS Designers! They are ridiculously talented in MDS!

Also something NEW - you will find us blog hopping on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month! We will have a NEW theme selected on the first hop and then a "What we are doing in MDS" on the second hop. We have lots of fun MDS themes coming up as the holidays are soon here!

Ok, back to our theme this hop....SCHOOL! Yep, moms out there are shouting "HIP HIP HOORAY!" We started last Monday here and my girls are well aware that this mom HAS to get the first day of school picture so that means getting ready well in advance so mom could get EXACTLY what she wants! I love getting the funny moment photos like that of Alli's yawning and Megan's smirk. They are riding the bus together this year because Alli started MIDDLE SCHOOL! (oh boy, my heart hurts.) Therefore I was able to get a duo-together picture this year. WOO HOO!

This page came from a challenge that I gave at our MDS Digi Crop Night on Tuesday. The ladies who did the challenge made some SUPER DUPER CUTE cards!  I called it the "THREES".....three colors, three photos or designer series papers, and three embellishments.  I used Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango with black and white; three pictures on my page; three buttons with downtown grunge frames. Most of what you see if using the download Hello World #133528 or link HERE, it is a baby set but I love the chalkboard look for school theme.

Tomorrow we will have a special edition of Artisan WOW! You do not want to miss it!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you today!

Artisan Wednesday WOW - Tape It All Together

So here we go!!!!! It is our first official Artisan WOW Blog Hop post! You just hopped over from Cathy's blog!
This card is fitting for today because I first want to say THANK YOU, YOUR THE BEST for everyone's comments over the past week or so! The huge amount of support and encouraging words have made me feel so valued and worthy to be in this Artisan Design Team. I am one blessed and lucky lady!
(Erica Cerwin made our August edition of Blog Hop Buttons!)

I love washi tape! Very versatile and easy to use but what about when Stampin Up does not have the color you want? You can use this super cute stamp set called Tape It (WOOD) or (CLEAR)! It was in our first box of goodies which had a fun variety of products. I have seen so many awesome samples out there using this card! For me, I decided to take each stamp in the set and place them in a random order on the largest clear block I have. I stamped it in Island Indigo. Then pulled the stamps off the block and stamped individually in Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango. With the Basic Gray card base, I am loving this color combo! Do you have the new chevron ribbon in any color yet? GET IT! Crushed Curry shown here. So love it!

On Friday, we will have a special edition of Artisan WOW! You do not want to miss it!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope this inspires you today!

Art Inspired Card

I have always love art whether doing or admiring works of art. Loved it in high school and then I was an Art major in college. Later on I switched to Art Education to finish my degree. My favorite medium is and always has been watercoloring. I have many of my watercolor paintings in my home.
I had just sent off my Artisan entries but the creative mojo was still there. I found some watercolor paper and pulled out my Aqua painter and these ink pads and started playing. I love the splatter and dripping as the ink colors run together. I used Daffodil Delight, Strawbery Slush, Coastal Cabana and Gumball Green. I stamped the image on the watercolor paper in Basic Black. I had to use my Stampin Up Basic Black marker to fill in the IMAGINED better. Added a few rhinestones too.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope this inspires you today!

My Winning Artisan Entry - Day 10

You just came from Cathy's blog! I just love her scrapbook page! So pretty! It is our last day of the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. But hold on because every Wednesday we will have a new blog hop properly called "Artisan Wednesday WOW". Each month Stampin' Up! sends the Artisan Design Team a box of items and we are given the task to create four projects with those products and then showcase them weekly on our blogs. I already have been making projects with the first box of items and let me tell you...WHAT FUN!
Back to my last entry project, this was a last minute change to my scrapbook entry. I had another page done in MDS and added hybrid elements but this idea was stuck in my thoughts and I had to make it. It turned out so awesome that I went with it instead. It was really a challenge for me to create a "boy" page. This is my adorable nephew who I miss a bunch! He is living on the other side of the world right now.

Now continue to hop along to Connie's blog!
Thanks for joining us in this journey! It has been a blast showing you all my entries. They are really special to me and I hope they inspired you these past 10 days!
