Festive Friday Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Here is the last Halloween project that I made. It is a coaster frame. I used the last bit of Ghostly Gathering paper I had to cover the 5x5 chipboard coasters. Pumpkin pie and Kiwi kiss cardstock for the picture frame part. I did cover the back of the coasters with black cardstock and sponged black ink on the edges. Then using my Crop-a-dile, added 4 Jumbo eyelets to attach together with Kiwi Kiss Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. Added the cute spider for Batty for You set and some other misc embellishments.

I plan to take pictures of the girls in their costumes this year and place them on this. Allison is going as Pocohontas and Megan plans to be Minnie Witch or if she changes her mind at the last minute like she always does. I will let know how that goes on Monday with pictures.

Have a SPOOKY Halloween and many treats! No tricks!

Disney Tip Thursday

Allears.net reports: High School Musical 3: Right Here! Right Now! opened October 24, replacing High School Musical 2: School's Out, which closed on September 13. The show (which still utilizes the caravan stage used for the first two High School Musical shows) features 14 performers, who perform six original songs from the new movie High School Musical 3: Senior Year. We missed High School Musical 1 show cause we did not go to Disney that year. We saw High School Musical 2 show and the girls loved it! So we are looking forward to seeing this new stage show next year. Now we have not seen the movie YET! Megan is so wanting to see it with her friends. Possibly a birthday wish coming up! From what I heard, many parents liked the movie and thought it was the "Grease" of the times. Which I LOVE Grease and remember seeing it for the first time to California when I was 7 or 8 years old. Grease is the word! Have a magical day! Cindy

Wacky Wednesday

Here is another birthday gift given to my co-worker and friend Glynda. She loves bright colors and I really wanted to use the new Pacific Point color. I used the Wow flowers stamp set with the Pacific Point and Soft sky cardstock and inks. I made a notepad holder, large clothes pin, beaded pen and a gift bag made from a 9x12 white envelope with a card. So my next craft show is November 5,6,and 8 at our church. I need to work on some new Christmas ideas this weekend and more snowman wreaths. Hope you have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Tip Tuesday

Well, I guess we will be going to HAWAII in 2011 or 2012! Better start saving now!
Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo (right) shared plans for its future resort in Hawaii with Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann today. Scheduled to open in 2011, the expansive family resort will be located in the picturesque Ko Olina area on the western side of Oahu and will include 350 hotel rooms and 480 villas for Disney Vacation Club, Disney's growing timeshare business.
This shows that DVC is listening to their members and building other locations besides Vero Beach and Hilton Head that we can use our points. They are still adding more locations for DVC members on Disney property as well. Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas, Bay Tower at the Contemporary Resort and Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs Resort will be opening within the next two years. Good time to buy DVC cause the price for points will go up each year. Glad we bought 4 years ago!
That is Disney news for today!
Have a magical day!

Festive Friday

Counting down to Halloween! 1 week! Here is the decor sign I made for my kitchen cookbook stand. I did a demo how to use the small spooky spider home decor piece at my workshop. I used the Ghostly Gathering designer paper with black cardstock cut with the scallop edge punch. I stamped the Spider from Batty for you and glittered him. Then used the Kiwi Kiss Striped Grosgrain ribbon. This would be great as a scrapbook page as well. I might have to put black and white pictures on it later. Have a spooky day! Cindy

Disney Trip Thursday (day 5 part 1)

This was a marathon day for the Schusters' in Disneyworld! Two parks, character meal, tons of rides, and good memories to remember forever. Now you know why this will take two posts to cover.
We started the day at the Animal Kingdom with Donald's Safari Breakfast. Donald was a little grumpy that morning and did not stay around long. But Daisy and Mickey made up for it. Our only other problem was the food, ok but not great. We like Chef Mickey's breakfast buffet. Plus we all were not that hungry. We all got our pictures with the favorite characters as you can see!
Next we went on the Safari ride. It was amazing! We saw so many animals in the savannah area. The driver even stopped twice for an emergency problem and we just sat in the middle of the area with animals all around us. Usually they just keep moving right along and you miss something. The giraffe is a new baby born in May 2008 and the elephant baby was born just last month. See it under his mother's legs. Love to see the babies! Last time was a baby rhino.
We got to see one of the last "Pocohontas and Her Forest Friends" show. A first time event for us and we loved it! Megan had the camera and snapped like 50 pictures during the show. The girl had a great singing voice!
Another first was taking the train to Rafiki's Animal Watch. A must see! Great learning area about the animals and seeing characters like Pocohontas, Rafiki and Jimmy Cricket!
Finally around 4pm and right before the parade, we left Animal Kingdom. Here is our last picture in the park in front of Expedition Everest. We rode that several times of course.
Off to Epcot at night! But have to save that for Tuesday!
Have a magical day!

Wacky Wednesday

Here are some pumpkins that I made for my craft show. I made 8 and sold 5! They are pretty simple. Bought a grapevine pumpkin and some matching ribbon, using a glue gun to attach ribbon to top and bottom and stamping leaves and sentiment on pumpkin pie, old olive and really rust cardstock then attaching with glue gun. I made these last year too, but these turned out great due to the ribbon colors. Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Trip Tuesday (day4)

Back to our trip, day 4 was our lazy day and a special deluxe dinner for us.
We were suppose to go to Blizzard Beach but we all decided to sleep in and then just go to our pool at the resort. Allison really amazed us with her swimming that day. She would go down the small kiddie slide and then swim all by herself. So we talked her into going on the big slide. I went first, then Megan and then Allison followed by Howard. I caught her at the end and her first words were " I want to do it again!" And again and again we did. I was so proud of her!
Then that night, we went to our favorite Restaurant, Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian Resort. Our waiter was Harvey who was served us before and top notch! We had the crab cakes for an appetizer, a must! Then we had our desserts, smores and Howard's Nutty Dutchman coffee after we watched the Wishes fireworks. Perfection! It is a pricy dinner when your hubby gets steak and lobster, two glasses of expensive wine, but it was his wish come true on this vacation. Priceless as they say.
Have a magical day!

Made for Monday

Well, there they are and there they went! All 53 of them are in the mailbox right now! Whew! Then I had the thought on the way home, thank you cards? Lois might be on her own for that.

My craft show on Saturday was a huge success! I sold 6 snowman wreaths and several cards etc. My desktop calendar sold out so I will definitely make more of them. I am working on my next workshop for November and will post details on Friday.

My Brother in Law Dwayne's birthday was Friday and I made him this special card for his birthday. Last year, I made a Steelers punch out card. This year, I thought I would try to make the Georgia for him. I used the Coluzzle cutter to cut the circle and oval. It took a few attempts but I finally got it! Have a magical day! Cindy

Festive Friday

Over the next 3 Fridays, I will be showing you all the fun Halloween Decorations I made for myself this year. I used the Stampin Up Home Decor Spooky Spider Vinyl element and put him on a 2 gallon jar from Target. It was so easy to do. He is the medium size spider. Then I just added a spooky spider tag using the Ghostly Gathering designer paper and Kiwi Kiss cardstock. Stamped the spider from Batty for you in Staz On black and made him sparkle with black glitter. Check out the detail of the tag below. The ribbon is the Kiwi Kiss 5/8" striped grosgrain. I did not have black twine, so I took my natural twine and inked it with Staz On black ink. Perfect! Now I just need to go to BJ's and buy the BIGGEST bag of candy to fill this monster! Have a spooky day! Cindy

Make up Thursday

Here are some of the final projects from my workshop last Friday/Saturday. The paper on the Boo Hanger was so cute! Then I tried using the pumpkin from Batty for You stamp set to make the frame. And last was our surprise projects....Frankie and Count Cutie! They were made by my punches, sponged in ink and put together. So easy!
Thank you to all that came! If you missed it, watch out for a new workshop coming soon! Christmas cards, decorations and more! Plan to be here!
Wait til you see tomorrow's post!
Have a magical day!

I want to make some as a gift for the holidays and maybe even do a Christmas theme to them. Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Trip Tuesday (day 3)

Day 3 - Wednesday We headed over to Hollywood Studios on this day. Crowds continued to be low so we got to see lots! Allison had to go see Playhouse Disney Show with all the new characters. It was really cute but I did miss seeing The Bear in the Blue House. Loved that show! But they did have Allison's favorite Handy Mandy character in the show. We had a wonderful lunch at the Sci Fi Diner. Tony from NY was our waiter so Howard chatted with him lots. Guess it paid off because we got a magical moment! He selected us as his magical moment winner of 4 Sci Fi Diner mugs with yummy carmel popcorn in them. Super nice surprise! As we were walking into lunch, I ran into my friend Nicole and her daughter Heather. I knew they were going to Disney but forgot to get her cell number before we left. Funny how things work out! So we decided to meet they after lunch and hang out, do some rides and the parade together. We did get a fastpass to Toy Story Mania, the new 4-D ride at the park. IT IS AWESOME! Then we did talk Heather and Nicole into riding Rock-N-Roller coaster for their first time. Panic started with Heather but we talked her into it and I have to say, she did great! Not sure if she will ride that again, but she can say she did it once in her life! We left the park early and got back just in time to watch Finding Nemo on the jumbo screen by our pool at the resort. So we swam and watched the movie. It was very relaxing and fun for the girls. Have a magical day! Cindy

Made for Monday

Here is just one of a 6 card set that I just love the colors in this card. It is very simple and clean. Easy to make as well. I will show the entire card set and awesome gift bag on Wednesday.
The idea came from UStamp online class. Brillant ideas for projects and I learned so much from all the ladies there. So this card was created with Tango Tangerine, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. I used the Wow Flowers stamp set. Small and Large Oval punch for sentiment. And finally a satin Chocolate Chip colored ribbon. Add the flower also on the envelope. Makes me think of autumn colors.
Speaking of colors, I wanted to share with you some cards that I saw at my upline Wendy's open house. They really stood out to me because of the color combos. Great for a fall/autumn mood, what do you think? Wish I could give credit for them but Wendy has them in hand.
Saturday morning, I opened all my goodies from Stampin Up. I got 10 stamp sets, tons of new paper, Christmas ornaments (class coming up), Create a calendar and decor elements. I am going to do a demo on decor elements at my workshop on Friday/Saturday. I also worked on getting ready for the workshop for those that have replied to coming. Still time to sign up!
Have a magical day!

Festive Friday

I have been making some different versions of the frame in my Halloween workshop coming up. This one is like a Frankenstein. Can you imagine your Frankenstein's face in the middle of this frame? So if you have a Frankie, you must come to my workshop (see details on last Friday's post) to create this little monster! Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Trip Thursday (day 2)

Day 2 - Tuesday So we got up super late and then went to the pool. I forgot my camera so no pictures but we had so much fun swimming and shooting each other with the horse water guns at the pool. Allison decided that this trip she was going to swim on her own and no swimmy jacket. She started holding her nose to go under the water. Just having water on her face is amazing itself. Then she swam by herself with no help or support from mommy. No slide at this pool but wait til you hear what happened on Day 4! (next thursday post) That night we had the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom! As you can see, all children and adults can get dressed up. Well, Megan and I opted not to wear our pretty Minnie Mouse dresses because it was so hot. That did not stop Howard though! He was a riot as Captain Jack Sparrow!!! He was going down with his ship(truck) in that picture above. Love this picture of Allison with the Minnie ears on. She went as Sharpay from High School Musical. But changed out of that after about 2 hours. Howard made it 3 hours til we bought a new Donald t-shirt and he changed. Several families, couples etc were dressed up that night. Wish I had taken pictures to show. We saw lots of Jack and Sally, a whole family as Peter Pan characters including Tick Tock alligator, Greek gods and goddesses, clowns, Captain Hook, Race car team, Witches, and more. Megan and I got to wear our Minnie Ears but not the dresses this time. They also gave us treat bags and we could go to trick or treat spots to get candy. We got 4 bags of candy! Every ride was a 5 minute wait. So over the span of two days at the Magic Kindgom we did 19 rides/shows. And yes we did get the girls on the Haunted Mansion on day 1 but not this night. It was creepy looking and too dark as Megan said. Girls got a front row spot for the Boo to You Parade. They were thrilled! They passed out candy at the end. Picture of the front of entrance and train station all lite up for the special night. We watched the Hallo-Wishes Fireworks show. Like Wishes by a Halloween theme with Disney Villians talking. We got a better spot in front of castle this time. We could see the castle stage show, parade and fireworks from the spot. Crowds were minimal cause they only sell a limited number of tickets to this type of event. It was GREAT! Definitely worth the money! So happy we went and we will go again next year! Have a magical spooky day! Cindy
