Together - MDS Blog Hop

WELCOME TO THE MDS BLOG HOP!
A bunch of us have joined together to share our passion for digital designing with Stampin' UP's My Digital Studio.  These ladies are SERIOUSLY talented in MDS and I am thrilled to be on this Blog Hop with them! You will find us blog hopping on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month! We will have a "theme" selected on the first hop and then a "What we are doing in MDS" on the second hop. This week we are catching you up with what we have been working on in MDS lately.
I have been working on two MAJOR projects lately in MDS. One is our recent Disney trip and the other is a baby book for some close friends. I love using MDS Monday challenges and these bi-weekly blog hop to get some pages done for them. I am hoping that I get them done in time to print thru the new printing company thru SU.

Some MDS techniques I used on this page:
Freeform line stitching with Night of Navy
Freeform Text on a line with "together" on a curve line
Recoloring the washi tape to Calypso Coral
Rounded corners on the photo

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

Hey There Buds Card - Artisan WOW

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! We are continuing with our June box of Stampin' Up products! This box was full of NEW products that just came out! So get ready to see some exciting NEW stuff this month! We hope you stay with our Artisan Design Team Blog Hop to inspire you look at some new things in a different way! You just came from Cathy Caines and next is Connie Collins, but before you do come check out my artsy card!
This card was a lot of fun to make! I first used the Coastal Cabana Blendablitilies to color my background on the Whisper White cardstock. Simply use the large tip end on the lightest color with a back and forth motion across the card area size you want. Next I did some lines around to make a "frame" with the Project Life Journaling pen. I stamped the single Hey There Buds stamp image in Staz On Black and again in Strawberry Slush. I hand cut them out and used dimensional to pop the flower up. I used the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flower with Hello Honey and dotted the centers with the Project Life Journaling Pen. I added a piece of the Hello Honey 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon and a Crushed Curry Baker's Twine bow. Those two yellows are so close that it works!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #70 - Geometrical Birthday

Joan from MDS Monday Design Team gave us a circle sketch challenge for this week. I decided to keep my page pretty much the same as the challenge sketch. I used the color combo of Mambo Melon, Bernuda Bay and Basic Gray. The Designer Series Paper was from the Here & There download. I added some triangle punches filled with color and the triangle stamp image from Geometrical download. Very simple page with a geometrical feel. I may go back and add a few more elements before printing this. Love that I can do that with digital scrapbooking!

You can give the challenge a try and submit your own page if you click on the MDS Monday button on the right side! Follow the directions on the site to upload your page and link it from your blog or MDS.net. Winners and honorable mentions are announced every week.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you today to get into

Made for Dad - MDS Blog Hop

WELCOME TO THE MDS BLOG HOP!
A bunch of us have joined together to share our passion for digital designing with Stampin' UP's My Digital Studio.  These ladies are SERIOUSLY talented in MDS and I am thrilled to be on this Blog Hop with them! You will find us blog hopping on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month! We will have a "theme" selected on the first hop and then a "What we are doing in MDS" on the second hop. This week we are celebrating Dads or find a quote about Dads to put in your project.
As soon as I saw this quote, I knew I had to use it for this "dad" theme! I used a photo from a few years back because it is my favorite picture of Howard and our girls. The hearts in the background are from the Beautiful Today download. I took them all down to 50% opacity and colored them Smoky Slate, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party and So Saffron. I wanted a softer look but NO pink. My new fav thing to do is to pull papers from different downloads on the same page. Try it! This is great fun to explore all the downloads you have!

I added some splatters in Smoky Slate and recolored Basic Gray Mis-Stitched download. I used my Global Search Tool to search for anything that spark my interest for the page...a heart negative circle; arrow; the xoxo circle; silver sequins from the download called Sara's Sequins and much more.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

Celebrating Gold Soiree - Artisan WOW

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! We are continuing with our June box of Stampin' Up products! This box was full of NEW products that just came out! So get ready to see some exciting NEW stuff this month! We hope you stay with our Artisan Design Team Blog Hop to inspire you look at some new things in a different way! You just came from Cathy Caines and next is Connie Collins, but before you do come check out my circle scrapbook page to showcase the yummy Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper! Did you overlook that paper when you saw it in the catalog? I did.

Last week, I did a gift set with this DSP and I wanted to show you this week how you can use all the patterns of this paper together to create a great scrapbook page. The NEW Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper has a pretty color combination of Metallic Gold, Garden Green, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Calypso Coral. I used the Circle Collection Framelits to cut some of the papers.
Then I took the Thick Baker's Twine in Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe and sewed it into the Kraft Cardstock. It is much thicker cardstock in that organic Kraft color and works well with this technique. I used the Paper- Piercing Tool to make my holes along the circle framelits while I used them as a guide. I used the most awesome stamp ever called the Alphabet Rotary Stamp! You can change the letters to make it say whatever you like! SO awesome!
Some more NEW products used on this page was the Dotty Angles Stamp Set, Fabulous Four Stamp Set, and Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack with matching Calypso Coral Candy Dots.

I love to create traditional pages that mean something to me....it was my youngest 12th birthday and I wanted to capture her at this age on her special day!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #69 - Mud AWESOME!

So this week I was in charge of creating a sketch for our MDS Monday Challenges! I created this for a scrapbook page but you could take the challenge of overlays and one feature shown for a card too. This page was fun to create for my girls who no way at all like to get dirty like tough and rough boys so the page is sorta funny to make with them in mind. The overlays I used where Toxic Frameable Background Overlay and ink splatters.
You can give the challenge a try and submit your own page if you click on the MDS Monday button on the right side! Follow the directions on the site to upload your page and link it from your blog or MDS.net. Winners and honorable mentions are announced every two weeks.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you today to get into

Hi There! - Artisan Wow

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! We are moving on to our June box of Stampin' Up products! This box was full of NEW products that just came out YESTERDAY with the new Annual Stampin' Up catalog!!! So get ready to see some exciting NEW stuff this month! We hope you stay with our Artisan Design Team Blog Hop to inspire you as you get your order of new goodies or prep your wish lists! You just came from Cathy Caines and next is Connie Collins, but before you do come check out my simple "hi there, hey there, s'up" card!
This was an interesting color combo to work with...it comes from the NEW Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. Metallic Gold, Garden Green, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Calypso Coral. See what I mean? But I fell in love with it! Cray cray huh? The card is super easy to make and perfect for a workshop of card buffet. Simple stamping with the Hi There Stamp set found on page 18 of the new Catalog. Add strip of DSP, some yummy twine and gold sequins scattered....done.
Yeah so I went beyond just this card...did some playing with the DSP and made this cute little gift bag to match the card. I love the strips on this paper pattern. So fun!
