MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #91

Tara create this fun sketch this week with a focus on numbers. I love using numbers when showcasing a special event on a scrapbook page and of course, I finished off my godson's first year album with his 1st birthday celebration! For my page, I used many embellishments from the On The Go download. If you have MDS and boys, this is a must have! I re-colored the truck to Pacific Point but left the tractor the green and gray.

Be Merry Gift Card Holder - Stampin' UP Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome back to the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! We are just starting on our November box from Stampin' UP. This box was full of Christmas kits and stamps from the Stampin' UP Holiday Catalog! I am so excited to share fun and seasonal projects to inspire you! Every Thursday of each week for one full year, all 16 of us from all over the world will post on our blogs an inspiring project for you! Be sure to get Google Translate so that you can read in your language all about how they created their projects too. Now on to my project this week...everyone needs an extra special gift card holder for the holiday giving!

As soon as I saw the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Dies in the Holiday Catalog, I was a happy, joyful gal! I love giving and receiving gift cards! Even better to make a special package for them with just the perfect saying! I used the Holiday Invitation Photopolymer Stamp Set for that saying...nothing better than "eating, drinking and being merry" with a Starbucks gift card or ANY food or restaurant gift card!

I used the versatile Under the Tree Specialty Design Series Paper for my gift card base and using Sticky Strip to close it but leaving one flap open. I think my new favorite ribbon is the Cherry Cobbler 1" Sheer Linen Ribbon! (I plan to use it on some packages coming soon) Here I just placed it as my pull ribbon around the actual gift card (which matched perfectly I thought - lucky me). 

My favorite details on this project are:

 *Making the banner fold to pop off the gift card holder. I stamped just the lines of the stamp image on both sides to make it appear longer. I scored a 1/4" on each end and used the hexagon punch to make my flag ends.

* I used Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder on the berries of the Wonderous Wreath Stamp Set. Love embossing! Love that stamp set! You will be seeing WAY more of it from me over the next two months!

Digital Project Life MY WAY - MDS Blog Hop

 WELCOME TO THE MDS BLOG HOP!

A bunch of us have joined together to share our passion for digital designing with Stampin' UP's My Digital Studio.  These ladies are SERIOUSLY talented in MDS and I am thrilled to be on this Blog Hop with them! You will find us blog hopping on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month! We are a little early this month due to the holidays! ALSO we have a guest blogger this month of November! MONIKA DAVIS She is my dear friend and my "partner in crime" with our MDS biz. Believe me, she knows her MDS!

For the MDS Blog Hop this time, we are sharing PROJECT LIFE DIGITALLY! Come check out each of us and what we bring to the digital PL world!

Well there was some talk about MDS moving towards Project Life printed cards, however this has been delayed unfortunately. (insert frown face here) SOOOO......

I decided to make my OWN! I created a 8.5x11 page and filled Happy Things Pocket Cards punch with Designer Series Paper from the Grateful Heart Thanksgiving download. Then I just took some of the stamp images and more punches from that same download to finish my designs on the cards. I printed this page on my home printer with Whisper White cardstock.

Can you see the possibilities with this idea? You can use ANY download kit or ensemble with this! I definitely plan to use it again and again and again. Maybe MDS will get on board with printing cards soon and my life will be Project Life PERFECTION!

I cut them out and rounded the corners with my Project Life corner punch. So simple, right? I like simple scrapbooking memory keeping! I need to finish some journaling on this as well. Perhaps a quote about grandparents!

I did add some "hybrid" quality to my page with Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Pool Party and Peach Parfait (retired color-but I always save scraps for this type of occasion as you know MDS NEVER retires....not yet) cardstock cut with the Fun Fall Framelits Dies. I just threw them in the pouch on the photo. FUN!

Cheerful Silver and Gold - Stampin UP Artisan Blog Hop

Sweet for tags but I thought those trees in a row needed to be on a few cards!

Few of my favorite things on this "Silver" one:

The snowflake stamp from the Cheerful Tags stamp set matches the snowflakes on this DSP in the Trim a Tree Designer Series Paper stack. BONUS!

The sequin confetti across the card made with Frosted Sequins, 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins Assortment and circle punches of the Silver Glimmer Paper.

I took Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine and sewed them around the piece of Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack. (tip - use paper-piercing tool to poke holes in the corners after you add the layer of paper then sew down into hole, make a knot on the backside, sew back thru hole to front and continue to next hole.) 

Few of my favorite things on this "Gold" one:

I used washi tape from the Project Life Seasonal Snapshot Accessory Pack, Gold stripe from the Watercolor Wonder pack and Red pattern from the Beach House pack on Very Vanilla Cardstock base.

The Cheerful Tags stamp of "Holiday Cheer" is embossed in Gold.

The sequins and epoxy dots from the Accessory Pack as well. 

That Gold Baker's Twine! Perfect addition for more 'gold".
