2010 coming sooner then later!

Sorry I have been MIA but I have been...prep for a craft show, youth meeting, doctor and dentist appts, lots of work on the real job and computer trouble getting to blogspot to post pictures.  I did manage to take a Friday off and head to Archiver's to play and buy!  HEEHEE! 

Here are the 2010 calendars I did this year to sell at my craft show.  I absolutely love how they turned out!  Thanks to a talented lady on Splitcoaststampers that name escapes me at this moment.  This Season of Friendship stamp set was in the Mini Catalog last year and they brought it back for the new catalog.  It is one of my all-time favorites!  On the top is Winter and Fall and below is Spring and Summer.  I wish I had taken a picture of it standing up.  The ribbon is the part that keeps it together as an easel.  Then once the seasons switch, you just undo the ribbon and re-thread it and make a bow.  Much easier than last year's version.

I sold these for $5.00 and one lucky lady bought all of them that I had at Saturday's craft show.  :o)  Yeah me!

I think this maybe the last Halloween item to show this year!  Maybe?  I need to check my camera to see if I made more after the last photo download.  I had some white treat bags that could not think of what to do with them.  I saw this idea off Kerry's Paper Craft blog were she does tons of items for craft shows.  These are totally cased from her.  The topper is held down by the scallop edge circle in the middle of the bag there. The ribbon is not Stampin Up and found at local craft stores.  The Designer paper is from last year but this year's DSP would look great as well.  Super cute and super easy to make.  I sold them for $2.50 each.  Click on picture to see details.

Made for Monday/Tuesday

I had every intention of posting last night but what a Monday I had! Megan, my oldest DD, had ingrown toenail surgery yesterday. PURE FUN! The hardest part was the numbing of the big toe. IT HURT! She is in a post surgery boot and looks like her Papa with his foot cast all proped up on a pillow while sitting. The pain of it hit her about 2am so she is tired this morning. We still have to soak it once we undercover the bandage to see how it looks.



So here are some cute Halloween treats that I made for my craft show. The punches are from Heather's Simple punches class. The lollipops are Carmel Apple Lollipops which are so yumm-o! The idea for the lollipop covers came from Dawn at Dawns Stamping Thoughts blog. She did some Valentine ones last year and I cased them. Very simple to make!

Countdown to Halloween

Lovin this little calendar so much that I had to keep it! Let me explain. I started to make two of these. One for my sister-in-law Reenie as her monthly birthday gifts and the other for the church auction donation for the craft fair this weekend. Once I started to make it, I just fell in love with it! Allison did too! So Reenie still got hers and I kept the other one. :o) Do not fret! The church will still get an adorable auction piece - a covered frame that I made last year. I have MINE hanging on the frig with the other magnet tags next to it. Allison changes it every day. As you can see, I am prepping for the craft fair this Saturday! Festive Friday

This is the last retired hostess set example that I want to show you this week. This is a post it note holder that holds just half a 3 x 3 sticky notepad. You can see how to make this over at Angie Juda's website here: http://www.mychicnscratch.com/2009/04/post-it-note-holder.html She has a video tutorial for it. (LOVE HER!) I used a 3 3/8" x 8 1/2" piece of Kiwi Kiss and folded in half. Then ran folded end in the crimper for three turns. I punched a scallop circle out in Chocolate Chip. The butterfly is from Martha Stewart and punched out in Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. (wish Stampin Up had a butterfly PUNCH) Added the grosgrain Chocolate Chip ribbon in a simple knot. I used the Hostess set called Sweet Little Sentiments and Pacific Point ink. I made Angie's red apple post it note holder for staff at our school. Wild Wednesday

I bet you are wondering what happen to Tuesday? Let's just say the day was a wash for this blogger. So this HUGE post for today should make up for it! HAHA! This is a set I made during UStamp online class. You saw the matching desktop display last Friday. It was my very first use with Rub-ons and I wonder now what took me so long to try them. I used Baha Breeze, Kraft and Black in the color combo. I have made recently this same complete set in Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Kraft. Then Wild Wasibi, So Saffron and Kraft.

I just love this box because you use a 8.5" x 11" to make the box bottom and a 6" x 6" to make the lid. It is so simple to make! I could make several boxes to sell at my craft shows with cards! Or maybe a class!

I must tell you that if you stamp and need inspiration or some stampin mojo, then sign up for a UStamp class! You get to keep the pdfs and make them whenever you want! The UStamp Blinkie will lead it to the details about it!

Wacky Wednesday

Here is a simple idea that you can create in a flash! Take a folded 4.25" x 5.5" and stamp image on the front. (Optional - take a 4" x 4.25" scored at 2" then fold and attach to the bottom half for more support) Then add a favorite 2.75" x 4"picture to a background frame 3" x 4.25" in chocolate chip. I then cut out butterflies in two different contrasting colors with the Big Shot Butterfly Die Cut. I added a ribbon to make up the body and antennas. Place on card with dimensionals to pop off the card. I used Old Olive, Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip to match my office. Could be a card or a frame! I love this idea and plan to make some more. Made for Monday

Can you take a guess who is arriving today? My niece ABIGAIL LEE ! We all have been waiting so long to meet her! Here is the name banner I made for her nursery. I used the Big Shot to cut out the pennants in Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip. I used the letter chipboard to trace the name in Chocolate Chip and cut them each out. I attached with brown ribbon and then tied different ribbons in between each pennant. See the close up of the letter A for details. You can see I added the white gel pen dots too. Sister in law Lois and brother Jon have a scheduled C section at noon today, so I am going to the hospital to see her right away! I will try to post pictures later of this precious one. Say a prayer that all goes well. UPDATE: Abigail Lee born at 12:35pm weighing 7lbs 12oz and 19" long. Mom, Dad and baby girl are all well! Post a picture later as soon as I get one! Festive Friday

Here are some organizers that I made for my craft shows. I got the idea from my genius upline Wendy. I made a light blue one at a class of hers and I just loved it! It holds everything you need to send notes or cards. It comes with two cards and matching envelopes, pen, and two notepads. The first one is done in a so saffron placemat from the Dollar Store that is folded at the bottom and tied up to make pouches with brown ribbon. I used a 12x12 chocolate chip cardstock for the background and stamped flowers on it also in chocolate chip. I used old olive cardstock to make the name tag, stamp holder, notepad holder and cards. I used scallop punch cut flowers on the cards with Bella paper circle punch for the center of the flowers. The RSVP pen has stamped paper inside the pen. I still have 3 of these available to sell at $12.50 each. I gave some as gifts to my friends at Christmas time. Another idea would be to make this to hold a calendar instead of the notepads. This one is done for a little girl's room. Everything they need to write a note and send cards. Love the touch of markers in the bottom pouch. I have 1 left to sell for $12.50. My girls are getting a teal and purple version of this organizer but with calendars soon. Post those later when finished. So this is not so much a festive item but it is festive in the fact that we are all trying to get into this organized time of year! Have a magical day! Cindy

Made for Monday

Here are two treats that I made for the staff at my girls' school. They are so simple to make.

First one is cased from Heather's UStamp project. You take a 4x4 sheet of cardstock and score it 1" all four sides. Cut tabs and fold and tape tabs to make a box bottom. Then cut a 3.5x4.5 cardstock times 2 for the front and back. Stamp with whatever you like. Attach them to the box with double side tape. Punch handle out with the small oval punch. Add scallop punch set and ribbon to finish. I used old olive and real red on this project.

Chocolates inside!

Last one is a spice jar from Ikea. They come in a pack of 4 for $3.50. I simply did a scallop punch in real red. A 1 3/8" circle punch in chocolate chip. Then stamped the gingerbread man from Deer Friends stamp set in chocolate chip and added red buttons with the real red marker. Punch out with 1 1/4" circle punch. The red gingham ribbon around the neck of the jar. I made the little name tags out of real red and used White gel pen for the name. REAL EASY!

Lots to do today! Projects to finish and wrapping to get done. I finished my cards and they are mailing today. I am ashamed to say that out loud! Have a magical day!

Here are some gift card/money holders that I made for my craft shows. I sold out of all 20 right away so I had to make more. They are made with 4 3/8 x 5 3/4 standard envelope folded into half and stamped all over the inside and front flap. I then attached it to a Real Red cardstock as a background. Add ribbon and the tree stamped with backing and done. I made them also in Wild Wasabi. Inside says Merry Christmas. Here are some gift ideas that I made for a donation for a fundraiser event. Kara is a 30 year old woman with colon cancer. She has a 7 month old baby girl! She has had surgery to remove the cancer and now is in chemo treatment. Please say a prayer for her and her family to make thru this terrible time. The first picture is a pack of 6 thank you cards made with the Wow flowers stamp set in Pink Pirouette and Black cardstock/inks. Second picture is a notepad holder with a beaded pen that matches the thank you set. I stamped the sentiment on only the first page of notes. Not each one! I packaged them both in a clear baggie and ribbon with a matching tag. Liked the notepad gift so much that I created more of them. I took all my notepad holders and made matching pens for them and put them in clear bags and ribbon. I am selling them for $5.00 each at my craft shows. Great little gift to give! Front Page NEWS!

Cherokee Tribune - 7 Check out my local newspaper! I am on the front page!!! So exciting! Go to the bottom left under "today's trib" for November 6th and click to view larger front page. The photographer took my picture at the craft fair on Wednesday and never did I think I would be on the front page. Great exposure and FREE advertisement! You will see my handmade snowman wreath which is now in limited quantities. I counted that I had only nine left after the ones I sold today at the craft fair. At the begining of this craft show season, I swore that I would only make what I have left and that was it. Over 2 years, I have made 135 snowman wreaths!!! I have 6 of them in my house during the holidays. Megan has teal, I have a Grandma Green, Allison has pink, Red on front door, red and white snowflake inside and a white one for January. Here is another birthday gift given to my co-worker and friend Glynda. She loves bright colors and I really wanted to use the new Pacific Point color. I used the Wow flowers stamp set with the Pacific Point and Soft sky cardstock and inks. I made a notepad holder, large clothes pin, beaded pen and a gift bag made from a 9x12 white envelope with a card. So my next craft show is November 5,6,and 8 at our church. Here are some pumpkins that I made for my craft show. I made 8 and sold 5! They are pretty simple. Bought a grapevine pumpkin and some matching ribbon, using a glue gun to attach ribbon to top and bottom and stamping leaves and sentiment on pumpkin pie, old olive and really rust cardstock then attaching with glue gun. I made these last year too, but these turned out great due to the ribbon colors. Have a magical day! Cindy

This Wacky Wednesday is a day late but never the less here it is: These little baskets are so easy to make! You can fill them with Dove Dark Chocolates (yummy) or whatever your weakness of chocolate is. You can also create Christmas, Halloween, Birthday themed baskets. Just put the treats in a clear baggie with a ribbon tie and place in basket. I tried to find the web link to make this cute thing but I am running out of time today. If you are interested, let me know at nutmeg1197@aol.com. I will email it to you once I find it. We made these baskets at one of my workshops in May of this year. Speaking of workshops, I had time on my drive home from Florida to think up some great workshops for this holiday season coming up. I am working slowly on the items to show you. Finally, I can show you this great gift package I made for my dear sister-in-law's birthday!!!

The whole thing started with the cutest apron that I got at Target. She wears aprons when she cooks. Then I saw this bag and tag project on UStamp and just had to create it. Then it took on a life of its own! Next was the notepad holder and beaded pen (see close up). Then the clip for bookmark in a cookbook. Last was the big jumbo clip to hold recipe cards. Now I found some cards at Target in cherries print so I bought them so she could make her own cards to send. No picture of them, sorry. I could have done much more but thought enough of the cherries! Maureen loved it all. She is my biggest fan of this blog! Checks it everyday and gives me tips and compliments. She is the best! So HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her!

We are at Hollywood Studios today! Very good lunch at an indoor theater in a 55 Chevy! Here we are the last trip at the place. So cool!

Sharing another great idea! A desktop calendar!I made this last year at Wendy's and needed to update for next year. This is a card 4.25 x 5.5 and fit into a standard envelope to be mailed. It sits on its own with the help of a piece of paper in between to hold together. Here I show you all four sides of the calendar, so you can flip to whatever side the month/season it is. Basic Gray cardstock is the base. I used the retired Perennial Favorites stamp set. Then using whatever seasonal paper you have to do the backgrounds. 1 3/8" square punch to cut out stamped image and mini calendars. These are post it note holders. Some are 4x6 and the smaller ones are 4x4. Easy to make really. Just take a coaster or heavy chipboard (I even used bar coasters from Taco Mac!) and cover with designer paper on front and back using double side tape on the very edge. I sanded the edges down and sponged with matching ink. Then take small 1.25 x 1.5 piece of paper and cover all three sides of the binder clip. Add two pieces of matching ribbon to binder clip and you are done. Click on pictures to see the different papers used. I have made all these and more for my craft shows. Over the weekend, we made one with a school theme paper. Great teacher's gift! You could make some too! Give it a try and let me know if you do!
