Seasonal Snapshot 2015 - Stampin' UP Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome back to the Stampin' UP Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!
We are just finishing on our October 2015 box from Stampin' UP.
This box was FULL of super fun holiday products
from the NEW Stampin' UP Holiday Catalog!!!!!
I am so blessed that I get to create with these amazing products and share with you all here! Remember that every Thursday of each week, all 13 of us from all over the world will post on our blogs an inspiring project for you! Be sure to get Google Translate so that you can read in your language all about how they created their projects too. Now on to first October project....Are you ready to stay awhile and soak in all the Project Life® by Stampin' UP® Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Collection goodness? Everyone on the team this week is using it as well in many different AMAZING ways!
Here is where I started....Project Life App. Yes, you read that correct. As a lucky iPhone user, I have the App and love it! I downloaded the same Seasonal Snaphot 2015 Collection and created a total of 9 pages from our recent family vacation/visit. You can click on each of them to view larger. I know this is a holiday (School, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas) themed PL Collection but you can see here that I used it for a Fall travel theme! How is that for versatility?

The thing about doing memory keeping on the Project Life App is that you can breeze right thru getting pages done! However, they lack (for me) the freedom to add some creativity into the mix. I love adding a few more layers and little sayings on top of the photos. So here is the challenge....I took the last one above and decided to make it in the real product line of Project Life® by Stampin' UP® Seasonal Snapshot 2015. Can you see how I used the same layout, same photos (printed) and the same cards from the collection but added the wooden elements, a few words and arrow embellishment to take it a step further? Even better, right?

This PL Collection is great for the holidays as well! You can see HERE how I used last year's Seasonal Snapshot for 2014. So you know I had to create more with this year's collection! Here are two fun Halloween pages!

And just one more to be completed! My youngest daughter is going on a field trip next week with her Dad in tow so I thought it would be nice for him to take some photos that I could use on this page. Let's see if he remembers.
I love the Seasonal Snapshot collections and I love that it gets me into memory keeping year after year! I will be making some Thanksgiving and Christmas pages for sure!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #83

For this week's challenge over on MDS Monday, I was responsible for creating a sketch and give you a little lesson on how to do a text on a path. Remember that feature?
For this sketch, you need to use the Freeform Tool to create the lines around the photo boxes and then add text to them. Need help? Go to these videos link to learn how to do it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gS2zJFgzA34
http://www.mydigitalstudio.net/video/text-on-a-path
(For a card, use one photo box and text on a path with the title.)
I kept it simple so that you can let your creativity flow on this challenge!
I love all the pages that the MDS Monday DT has brought this week! Be sure to check them out over on MDS Monday!

Challenge Guidelines:
  • Please create a new MDS project for the current challenge.
  • Provide a link back to MDS Monday or use the Challenge Graphic above within your post.
  • Link directly to your Post for this challenge, not your entire blog. (So we can find your project)
  • You can create a Card, Scrap Page or 3-D Object with the Sketch.
  • The Challenge will end on Saturday Sept 27th @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #76

Happy Monday to you! and Happy MDS Monday as well! I was in charge of this week's challenge on the design team. I use one of the templates from the photo layouts in MDS as my inspiration for this challenge. I have always loved the look of large photos on a page and in this challenge I divided it up so that you could use the template for large wide photos for scrapbook page or wide layers for card. You could use three photos or like our designers have done, make one of them a layer for your journaling section. Finding a photo for this might be a challenge as well. Look for photos that you can narrow the height on and focus on the width.
Taking family photos can be so much fun! LOL All the planning of outfits for each person to wear (even dealing with men who dislike the whole matchy-matchy theme) and the location selection and the photographer.  But I have to say that our photographer Shala Wills is awesome! She is so sweet and even brought 2 assistants with her to get a perfect photo session completed. The idea of a family photo session was a gift to our Mom for last Christmas. We did this in May and they still have not been printed yet! But I have plans to do so ASAP!

I have to share one photo with ya that totally explained our photo session. It is priceless!
As you can see someone was tired of smiling!

You can give the challenge a try and submit your own page if you click on the MDS Monday button on the right side! Follow the directions on the site to upload your page and link it from your blog or MDS.net. Winners and honorable mentions are announced every week.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you today to get into
MDS Mondays and our challenges!

Mother's Day Blendabilities Sneak Peak

I was able to get the Stampin' Up Blendabilities Markers in our May Artisan box and I would share on a regular Wednesday post but I wanted to share BEFORE Mother's Day in case it inspired you to whip up a card fast. First let me say that I love them, but only after I did LOTS of playing with them. Of course you have to have the perfect stamp for them and this Blended Bloom Stamp is PERFECT!

For my flower above I used Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana sets that you can see the various shades in the picture. I embossed the stamp image in White Embossing Powder first on the Crumb Cake cardstock. You need to be careful when coloring so you do not  color the white embossed lines. I started with the Dark first with small tip, then Medium with small tip and colored over all of it with the Light with large tip. Did you get the April Paper Pumpkin? That stamp "Happy Mother's Day" was in there! Just love it!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

MDS Blog Hop - Recapping the month of June...

Welcome back to the MDS Blog Hop! This second posting of the month is all about "what we are working on". While I have been quite active in the digital aspect of scrapbooking, I have been taking some time to create with all my "realistic" materials from Stampin Up. I hope to get some pictures taken and downloaded to share on my blog too.
June is a busy month. Summer school vacation has started, Vacation Bible School, my youngest daughter's birthday and then Father's Day and my husband's birthday. All really good times as a family! So this page was inspired from the later half of the month - my hubs! I am loving the colors in this! The pop of colors with the Very Vanilla and Black. I used Fan Fair Digital Disc Download and DSP which I can not remember at the moment. The fun part was the splatter! (using lots of splatter lately) I colored the splats with the color tool. Have you tried the splatter stamp? You really should!
THANKS for stopping by our blog hop today! Quite a mixture of things - pages, cards....

MDS Blog Hop Friday - Sketch

Rochelle pick a wonderful sketch for this week's challenge. I love a sketch to get the creative juices flowing! I started with the sketch for a Christmas page and it just was not working. Too busy. So I remembered these pictures on my camera, download them and the page just created itself. I got to use some new downloads in a new way. See the supply list below.
Recently we got a new dog. Her name is Annabelle and she is a short haired Border Collie/Whippet. She was very neglected, in a crate for 20 hours of a day and fed once a week. I always said since our beloved Molly died in May 2011 that God will lead the right dog to our home. Well, she is the one. She looks just like our first dog Bailey. She is full of energy which is perfect for Allison and Howard. She loves to be cuddled with which is perfect for Megan and I. She is 18 months old and still in puppy stage with the chewing but she listens to our commands. Her weight is up, hair is growing back and she is not shy nor scared anymore. And most of all - she is LOVED!

Finally I can show these!

Here are the many family gifts that I made this holiday season.
I hope that everyone liked them and enjoys them thru the year.

A 2012 MDS desktop easel calendar for my brother-in-law of his three sons.  One of my favorite projects this year!
A flower bookmark band for my mother-in-law.  I have to make myself one!
A Starbucks Gift Card Holder for my sister-in-law - the GC is inside the cup!  Also made this as a light latte with kraft paper in the bottom for another gift.
A Stampin Up card keeper completely covered with Spice Cake DSP/fabric and filled with 40 cards and envelopes for my mom.
2012 MDS Desktop Calendars for my mom and sister-in-laws from this post HERE
MDS Custom designed Lego shirts for my three nephews! They loved them!

Two MDS date frames for our brothers' families.  The anniversary date is in the center then each parent's birthday are next out and finally the kids' birthdays are on the outside.  You can see the one I made my parents HERE.

I did make an iPod box in Basic Gray for my brother to hold his iTune cards. Looks like this one here on this ipods POST. I changed it to say Jon's Itunes and his favorites bands of all time. I forgot to snap a pic of it. oh well.

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope your Christmas was a joyful one!

A Family Christmas Project 2011 - Merry Christmas!

On the Friday after Thanksgiving, we decided to skip the Black Friday mega mess and do a family project together. It was so GREAT! Just spending time together and crafting to Christmas music, of course! I got this idea from Pinterest HERE on my board.
My husband Howard cut all the wood pieces and sanded them.
Then Megan, Allison and I painted the pieces. Megan did Joseph, Allison did Mary and I did the heads and the baby Jesus.
Here they are all ready for final touches and assembly.
I made tags from MDS with the Punny Holidays brush stamp set.  As soon as I saw "the Reason for the Season", I knew it would be perfect for this project.  I used the Wide Oval punch on these and added a Decorative Label punch layer in Chocolate Chip.
Here is the final piece and below is how I labeled them with the other sheet of MDS.

We gave these to friends at church that have helped us in many ways over the past year.
I think this was my most favorite thing that we did the Christmas season and that we did something as a family together that reflects our faith!
Joy to the World! The Lord is come!
A very Merry Christmas to you!
