Festive Friday
4 months til Christmas! Can you believe that? I think I need to do Halloween cards for the next few weeks.
I am trying out my new In Colors and Designer Papers. At first, I was not too sure about that Bella Rose DP. It is growing on me. I love the dots side but not so much the Rose side of it. Not my style.
I used Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pink Piqueotte and Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the gift package from the Deer Friends Hostess set in Chocolate Chip. Used my scallop circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch and finally the 1 3/8" square punch. I found this cute chocolate with white dots ribbon at Hobby Lobby to finished it off. That's it!
Well, heading to Mississippi to visit with friends this weekend. I plan to do lots of stamping projects with my BF Maureen. So I will have plenty to show when I get back.
Have a magical weekend!

By the way, dear Howie has the cold now! He sounds terrible!

Disney Tip Thursday
Do you have a princess in your house? I have two! In November 07, we took the girls to do the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at the Magic Kingdom location. We had scheduled a reservation for both at 407-939-7895 (or 407-WDW-DINE).
Check out all the details here on Deb's Allears.net.
http://allears.net/btp/bibbidi.htm
Above is Megan getting started and Allison is getting double duty on her hair and eyes by two "fairy godmothers in training". We got the coach package for both and they both selected the "Disney Diva" style. It comes with a long hair piece which sealed the pick of style. Both wanted bangs down. Now they wet the hair and mat it down with tons of hairspray and bobby pins. (I think I pulled out 50 out of each head!) It lasted the whole day at the park and every little girl would stare at them. Megan even met another Megan from England because she loved Megan's hair so much.
Here are our Disney Divas of the day! Megan got a special birthday sash. Neither one wanted to wear a costume that day. Allison loved the experience and would do it again and again. Megan, not so much, but she was glad that she got to do it once in her life. If you have a princess, you should let them experience this at least once! They will never forget it!

Wacky Wednesday
Hello Wednesday!
I am feeling better but still so tired. So I went back to do more of these candy/cookie/snack/sweets jars. Check out last Wednesday to see the newer version of the "C" jar. I added the scallop edge on the top and bottom of the side. See it? I think it makes it so much cuter!
I used Chocolate chip cardstock for the letter, new Bella Rose DSP, and chocolate chip ribbon. I used the Coluzzle Cutter to cut out a perfect circle for the top. I added the scallop edge punch in Riding Hood Red to top and bottom.
Could you not imagine that jar filled with Dove Dark Chocolates? "Yummo!" as Rachel Ray would say.
I have been working hard on more craft show goodies to show you. Wait til you see what I have!
Have a magical day!

Disney Tip Tuesday
Well, after looking at this new found Disney planning website, I am stumped.
Check out Kathleen's plan-a-vacation website here:
http://www.plan-a-magical-vacation.com/
Everything I would have done to have a website to help others plan a magical Disney vacation and she has it all there layed out so well. You must go see it!
Maybe now I will just plan on doing smaller tips and show things we love to do at Disney and pictures of our trips. Picture is Cinderella Castle during the holidays. They light it up with over 100,000 LED lights! At 5:45pm, Fairy Godmother does a show called Castle Dream Lights that makes them turn on. I LOVE IT! So beautiful! Then to see the fireworks show called "Holiday Wishes" behind the castle makes me so happy I cry!

Made for Monday
This card says it all for me today. I am SICK! I have been battling this cold for a few days and today feels the worst. Just add some stress to that and you have a bad bad day.
I made this card with Groovy Guava, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White cardstock. I used the Pick a Petal stamp set which normally make large flowers but I saw this somewhere and cased it. Groovy Guava, Chocolate Chip and Wild Wasibi Classic Inks make this little sicky dude come alive. I like the little "smile" in his frown.
I could use this little card today for a quick pick me up so I hope it helps you if you are not feeling well like me. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Have a magical day.

Festive Friday
I have "baby" on the brain today! and NO I am not pregnant! I just finished making 25 baby shower invitations like this card for a friend. Her sister is having a girl. I made them in pink and white.
Also my brother and his sweet wife are finding out the sex of their baby today! So exciting! Let us think pink? or blue? They are due in January.
***UPDATE : IT'S A GIRL! *** I was thinking how cute that oneies card would be for a Baby's 1st Christmas. I used pink pirouette, old olive, riding hood red, and whisper white cardstock. Stamp set is the new Deer Friend Hostess stamp set (this should be in the main catalog in my opinion) and real red ribbon. I used Lauren Meader tuitorial here: http://laurenm.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/02/05/create-your-own-onesie-card-tutorial-and-important-note-please-read/ to create the card. Scallop punch and 1 3/8 punch and my rarely used Cuttlebug with Swiss dots for the background dots. I just love how it turned out.
Miss my girls being babies. :o( They grow up so fast. Alli still says that she will always be my baby girl. Ah!
Have a magical day!
See you Monday!

Disney Tip Thursday
Character Meals - This is a great way to NOT stand for hours in those park lines
to get a photo op and signature with the Disney characters!
My tip is to schedule your ADR close to the last sitting for breakfast. Breakfast is the less expensive meal too. One - you can call this lunch instead so you can do just two full meals that day. Two - you can probably see the characters almost twice since they go around quickly to make sure all the last sittings were seen.
They work like this: You check in and then they offer a photo op with a character or a restaurant sign at the entrance. These are the packages you can buy for like $30. (TIP - you CAN pass this if you choose and save the money) You are seated at your table and be sure that who ever is taking the pictures have a good angle and the kids have excess to get up to hug the characters. Then get out the camera and signature books and be ready for them to come by. (TIP - Make sure you have a thick pen for the character to hold) Waitess brings your drinks and here comes one. The character will stay just enough for a signature and a couple of photos then leave. (FYI - characters in full costume do not talk only characters in human form like a princess do) Then you have time to get your buffet plate full and back to the table when the next character comes. Pics and signatures then you have time to eat til the next character comes. It continues until you are done eating and have seen all the characters. If you missed one, ask your waitress to tell them to come back. They will make sure it happens. Let them know if you have a birthday cause they sing and bring you a surprise!
Our favorite character meal is Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. Whether breakfast or dinner. You get to see the some of the main Disney characters: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald or Chip and Dale. It also books up fast so plan your ADR well in advance at 180 days. The meals are buffet style and very good. Check out here for the breakfast menu and prices http://allears.net/menu/menu_cmb.htm and dinner menu and prices http://allears.net/menu/menu_cmk.htm . Notice the breakfast to cheaper! It is also at a great resort to see since the monorail runs thru the resort. You could even take the monorail around to top it off. Kids love it! Try to get in the front next to the driver, it is the best and the kids get a surprise! (My picture on the right is from this meal at our November trip)
The next best is Princess Storybook Breakfast in Norway at Epcot. Check out which prinesses, menu and pricing here http://allears.net/menu/menu_psb.htm. The food is brought to your table family style. The princesses are so engaging as they are really into character.
Another one is O'hana at the Polynesian Resort. Check out the meal here http://allears.net/menu/menu_ohb.htm. This is also family style to your table. You can see Stitch and Lilo as well as Pluto and Mickey! Stitch is so fun! Trouble maker so beware!
So we are trying the new character breakfast in September. Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom! I will let you know my review after our trip.
Whew! These Disney tips are so long winded so I hope they are helping someone out there! Heehee!

Wacky Wednesday
(in all posts you can click on the pictures to enlarge)
I have been working on some projects to sell at my craft shows this fall. Here is one of them. I take any style jar (got at Walmart or Target) and put the Designer Paper on the top and one side. I then traced and cut a letter C for cookies or candy and finish it off with ribbon. Pretty simple but very cute to put on your kitchen countertop. I have three jars similar to these in my kitchen. Great gift to give filled with candy as shown. Want one?
I used Chocolate chip cardstock for the letter, retired Brocade Background DP, and chocolate chip ribbon. I used the Coluzzle Cutter to cut out a perfect circle for the top. I added the scallop edge punch in Chocolate Chip to top and bottom.
I will be showing more of my craft show projects on Wednesdays.
Have a magical day!

Disney Tip Tuesday
What is a Disney Dining Reservations (ADR) ?
Dining Reservations can be made at all of the Disney World Table Service Restaurants 180 days in advance. Guests staying at a WDW can make all of their dining reservations for the length of their stay at 180 days (6mths!) from their arrival date. To make a dining reservation call 407-WDW-DINE. The restaurants can book up fast during peak times or when Disney offers free dining plans with their packages.
If you are going to WDW and you want your child/children to experience eating with Cinderella in the Cinderella Castle, then you want to closely follow this tip.
Your trip dates are picked and hopefully you have planned way before 180 days in advance, you picked the date and time for the meal but are flexible. Now what you must do is this, you need to call at 180 days to the actual date you can call 1-800-WDW-DINE at 7:01am Eastern when the lines open. Yes, this is true! This character breakfast is the hottest thing around the world! Especially during the peak times. It is so worth getting up at 6:50am to get this done.
Cinderella's Royal Table - Located on the second floor of Cinderella Castle. Characters vary, but almost always include Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother and may include Belle, Jasmine, Mary Poppins, and Sleeping Beauty.
Check out details of menu and pricing here: breakfast http://allears.net/menu/menu_crb.htm and lunch http://allears.net/menu/menu_crl.htm and dinner http://allears.net/menu/menu_crd.htm
When you arrive at Cinderella Castle for your reservation, a photographer will be on hand to take pictures of your group in the lobby, before you are seated in the dining room. A package with four 4x6 prints and one 6x8 print of your photo, as well as one 6x8 print of Cinderella Castle, in a Cinderella photo holder ($29.95 plus tax) will be delivered to you during your meal.
NOTE: Payment in full with a credit card will be required at the time of booking for all meals at Cinderella's Royal Table.
Here are my princesses all dressed up to meet Cinderella back in 2005!

Made for Monday
About 6 months ago, I bought these really cute felt flowers by Greenhouse.
I got them when Hobby Lobby had a huge sale on scrapbooking stuff. Never used them cause I was at a lost on what to do. I ran across Karen's blog : http://kgiron.blogspot.com/ and found a card layout and decided to case it but with the new colors.
So I played with NEW Pink Pirouette, NEW Baha Breeze and Chocolate Chip in the first card. The second card is just the Baha Breeze and Chocolate Chip. I used rhinestone brads and silver brads for the center of the flowers. I can not decide on which one I like better. What do you think?

Festive Friday
I finally made some time to play with my new stamps and colors. I have been blogging around looking at all the new items and as soon as I found this from Heather Summers on her blog I wanted to make it! I just loved the layout and colors. I changed mine so that it was not a total copied case. Love ALL she does!
I used : Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White and Chocolate Chip Cardstock; Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink Pads; NEW scallop edge punch, 1" punch, 1 1/4" punch and 1 3/8" punch; Deer Friends Hostess Stamp set and Heard from the Heart stamp set (two favorites of new catalog so you will see more of them).
Have a magical weekend!

Disney Tip Thursday
So today I am covering that you can stay "off Property" as well and get that Disney magic and save on your budget! There are several options for "off property" resorts.
The recommended are: All Star Vacation Homes, Gaylord Palms Resort, Radisson Resort Orlando-Celebration, DoubleTree Guest Suites, the Sheraton's Vistana Resort Villas and the Sheraton Vistana Villages. Check out Allears.net for some specials they get on booking at these resorts. This is a listing of all hotels in the WDW area. http://www.kayak.com/h/destinations/info/US/FL/Orlando?ai=linkshare&p=VHkiEPRvL8Y-WJvLzplT3MZ7A6a.BeZK7g
We have used this website once. http://www.orlandovacation.com/
We have stayed off busy Hwy 192 at Encantada. Terre Verde was our first pick but booked. They are homes that people buy as vacation homes and then for 2 years rent out to the management company that builds the homes. We rented in April 2007, a 4 bedroom with a private pool when we stayed with my two best friends and their families. It gave us plenty of space for all and we could come back from the parks and swim anytime. It was clean and the people were friendly. Great community pool and playground area! Dining was all up and down Hwy 192 for plenty of options if you choose not to cook in the full kitchen they have. We did dinners in the house for 3 nights. Now when they say "only 2 miles from WDW" they mean 2 miles from the exit off Hwy 192 for the WDW exit. It is still a couple of miles to the parks and the parking lot. Do not be fooled! Even some Disney resorts "on property" are a few miles away from the parks. The price per night $110.00-135.00 for a 4 bedroom with pool (Sept 08) is good but you have to pay for parking each day (5 days x $11) and you have to have a car (no shuttle buses) to get to the parks and pay for that gas too. Another problem we ran into was Hwy 192...it is under construction all the time and can get backed up at peak hours. Hubby took 35 min to go 3 miles on a Saturday morning!
My tip would be to map the resort you are planning to book. Find out where it is located in the Buena Vista area and how far WDW is from it.
So when deciding on a resort to stay at, here are some things to keep in mind:
1. Number of guests (need a larger room...look at family suites)
2. Room size comparison ( need two beds or a pull out couch)
3. Price ( what is your budget )
4. Transportation options (shuttle to parks or driving yourself)
5. Other services you may desire or require (continental breakfast, dining, spa, etc)
6. Location ( distance to parks)
Have a magical day!

Wacky Wednesday
It should have been Wacky Tuesday! It was a long day with work, dance lessons, dinner, homework, shower and then I had to watch Michael Phelps get his 10th and 11th record Gold medal, so no NEW card made with my new goodies (which I did get and opened just to see them). But I did want to post a card that I did as a challenge to try something new to me - mosaic tiling in a card.
I used Old Olive, Rose Red, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip cardstock. I used my square punch to make the "tiles" and stamped in chocolate chip/old olive classic ink pad on top of them once they were glued down. Stamp sets used are Embrace Life and Hugs & Wishes. I got this great color combo from my Stampin Success magazine that I receive as a demo.
I hope to post something for Festive Friday from my new goodies!
Have a magical day!

Disney Tip Tuesday
Where in the "WORLD" to stay at Disney? You have several options and so I will be covering this in both tips this week.
Today covers "On Property" or Disney resorts on the Disneyworld grounds. Staying on property does give you some benefits but it does cost more depending on where you want to stay. Benefits include FREE parking pass ($11 a day savings), FREE shuttle all over the Disney property, FREE shuttle to and from airport and Extra Magic hours in the parks (1 extra hr in AM and 3 extra hrs in PM). Click on any of the resorts below for more info from Allears.net.
They offer DELUXE: Animal Kingdom Lodge, BoardWalk Inn, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club and Beach Club, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin.
We have stayed at Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. These resorts are the top of the line in accommodations. They will cost you at least $250-300 a night in the low value season. Favorite pool is at the Beach Club, it has a sand bottom pool! Animal Kindgom Lodge is amazing! You can see the animals right outside your window! All have great restaurants as well. Grand Floridian's Narcoosee is by far one of the best! More on that another time!
They offer MODERATE: Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter and Ft. Wilderness Cabins
We have stayed at Caribbean Beach in July 2005 and we enjoyed this resort. Now it just has gone thru major rehab in the rooms and it will have a Pirate themed and a Nemo themed resort area. The pool is like a fort/castle but I thought it was quite a small pool. Prices range from $149-200 a night.
We have stayed at the All Star Movies and Pop Century. I liked the style of Pop Century. The price is right on these to stay if you are on a budget but want that Disney "magic". The prices range form $99 - 140 a night. The food court can be crazy at peak times and long waits for getting something to eat.
They do offer for public use to the Disney Vacation Club: Old Key West, BoardWalk Villas, Villas at Wilderness Lodge, Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, Beach Club Villas, and Animal Kingdom Villas.
We have stayed at all of them expect the Boardwalk Villas. I love Old Key West for their room sizes. Their studio room is the largest and has two double beds where all other studios have a queen bed and pull out couch. Saratoga is our home resort and we love it so much! It is close to Downtown Disney shopping area and really good restaurants like Fulton's Crab House. Prices run higher because these are bigger rooms with a kitchenette. $300-600 a night for a studio. More for a 1 or 2 bedroom. But if you plan to eat in the room for early breakfast or snacks, it is nice to have that kitchenette.
We will cover "off Property" places to stay on Thursday.
Have a magical day!

http://www.stampinup.com/us/enu/543.asp
Today is the day that Stampin Up releases their new Fall/Winter 2008-2009 Idea book & Catalog! I will be back to update later with a link directly to it. I got to pick up a catalog at my wonderful upline Wendy's open house. She is so SWEET! I have been ooing and awing over it this past weekend. So many new items and new ideas! My new stamps and new colors are due via UPS on Tuesday! So I will try my best to make something new and post it on Wacky Wednesday.
In honor of my terrific upline Wendy and the new catalog launch, I wanted to post something brand NEW! Here is a card we made at Wendy's house. This is so darn cute and additive to open and close to see the saying. We used new Pink Pirouette , new Pacific Point and Whisper White cardstock, Happiness Always hostess stamp set, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point and Pink Pirouette classic ink pads with White taffeta ribbon.
See the saying is gone! Very CUTE!

Festive Friday
Can you believe we have LESS than 5 months til Christmas? CRAZY! It will go by so fast. So I will be sharing my Christmas cards and decor ideas each Friday. Sorry the picture is little blurry, I am just getting use to my camera/lighting with taking pictures of cards. This card is cased from the Stampin Up Sale-a-bration Mini on Page 6. Love the simple layout.
I used Blue Bayou and Whisper White cardstock, White craft ink and Blue Bayou classic ink pad, Brown 5/8"grosgrain ribbon and glitter (on the snowflake). Stamp sets used were Lots of Thoughts and So Many Scallops. I used the scallop punch and word window punch as well.
Well, the new Stampin Up Fall/Winter 2008-2009 catalog goes live on Monday! I will be linking the website on Monday's post for you to view if you are interested.
Have a magical day!

Disney Tip Thursday
Do you ever look at the DisneyWorld Magic Your Way ticket purchasing and feel totally lost and confused?
Another secret of mine and a money saver in the long run if you choose to do so, is another favorite website.
http://www.undercovertourist.com/
If you have young children who love Disney, plan on going to WDW several times is the near future, love WDW and go all the time, then I highly recommend you buy the 10 day pass (park hopper optional add on) with NO EXPIRATION. Big budget crunch now, but long run savings. Yes, it is $453.95 for adults, but when you divide by 10, that's $45.40 per day. A 3 day expiring pass from the same website is $74.65 a day! You save almost $30 a day! Another thing with no expiration is that when Disney raises their prices every year, it will not effect you because you bought them at the cheaper price! You could use your passes in ten years from now and still at the lower price. They never expire!
Update: OUCH! Disney just announced on August 3rd a ticket pass price increase! They do it every first of August since 2006.
Now if that is not an option in your budget at this time, this website is still the best for ticket pricing. Check out what fits your needs for the trip (how many days in the parks) and budget. They ship out next day and are trustworthy ticket dealers. Their prices are slightly discounted and NO tax and FREE shipping. Unless you need to have them at last minute but you can pay extra for shipping next day. We have used them several times.
Best ticket tip ever! Take a photo of the back of your pass with the pass numbers. Or write the number down and put in a safe place. Then if you lose the pass, at the parks or resorts can print you a new one with the remaining days on it. DH forgot/lost his pass at the Fast Pass Gate machine in Magic Kingdom. He went to the Services Desk in the park. They could see on their computer that he did the fast pass on his ticket and renewed his pass for him. Another way to trace it. I also take photo of my photopass card with the numbers in case the photographer or I forget to get it/give it back. I will tell you more about Photopass another time.
That's it for today! More Disney tips next week!
Have a magical day!

Wacky Wednesday
So for Wacky Wednesday, I made some of these popular "beach bags" that we did at my upline Wendy's meeting. We got to use the NEW Bella Rose Designer paper. Oohhh, love it! I decided to use my favorite In Color Soft Sky Designer paper which retires in 4 days. Booooo! These are super easy to make and no stamping at all. I think they would be cute as a small gift for someone like a neighbor who takes care of the dog while you are on vacation, someone who did you a big favor, someone at church who has been ill, someone like a super teacher, a baby shower treat bag...I could go on and on. It measures 2.5"x 6" and just enough room for a hand cream and some yummy dark chocolates. Perhaps I should have a little workshop to make some of these adorable "beach bags" for the holidays! What do you think?
BTW, I can not wait to get that new scallop punch after making the scallop edge at the bottom with the slit punch. It took forever to do it! I used scallop edge scissors on the other one.
Have a magical day!

Disney Tip Tuesday
Yes, I am a Disney fanatic! I admit it. Always have loved anything Disney. We have owned into the Disney Vacation Club since 2004 and since that day have been to Disney 8 times in 4 years!!! So over the years, I have become a pro at planning our trips to see the main Mouse himself. Several of my friends and DH's co workers have come to me for advice on their Disney trips and I love sharing those tips for you to have a great time on your Disney trip.
So my first Disney tip is:
http://allears.net/
Deb's Unofficial Walt Disney World Information Guide Website - It has so much to read about planning a Disney trip. You could spend a whole day just reading thru this website. I suggest that you sign up for the FREE weekly newletter first! Every Tuesday you will get a email newsletter with news, tips, special events and more. Print it out and read when you have time. Same for the articles/webpages on the website.
Oh, you can also go to the main Disneyworld website. Which I recommend because you can view park hours for up to six months in advance! I book 7-11 months in advance with DVC. Insert "NUTS" here, I know. But it pays off.
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index
Check out the DisneyMoms Panel for more tips. (see link below right) I applied with another 10,000 people and missed getting that job. See other people are more Disney NUTS than me!
I have so many many more tips to share! That is why I have to do TWO Disney tip days. Several of our local county neighbors and friends will be going to DisneyWorld coming in September for our fall break, so I hope that you will share my blog if you know someone going then or in the future. We are going then too. And it is all planned. :o)
Have a magical day!
