MDS Blog Hop Friday - Color Challenge

Our Blog Hop Challenge this week was a color combo using Pear Pizzaz, Basic Gray, Night of Navy, Melon Mambo and Whisper White. I must admit this right now...I find doing template challenges easier than color challenges. SOooOooo...I combined the two together to solve my slight creative block on this week's challenge.
Here is the template 12x12 page that comes with the Twitterpated Kit # 129332 shown below. Simple yet perfect? Gorgeous right?

I just got a BIG BUNCH of MDS downloads recently and I am so lovin the Walk in the Park II kit # 129607. It was a favorite of mine in the real form stamp set and dsp. It had all the colors from our challenge and all I had to add was the Night of Navy in ribbon, brads, a heart punch and text font to complete the challenge. Easy peasy, huh?!
I love this page of me and my BFFs! It was a really fun day together. Hope our next one is sooner than later! We need to do April and May frames!
Very simple example on how you can take a template and recreate it to make it your own! Now you go and try this challenge! Get a template and make it your own!
Thanks for stopping by!
I hope all the digital divas have something to show ya. Be sure to show them some lovin for their efforts!

MDS Blog Hop Friday - CASE from a Catalog

This week's challenge was to CASE (copy-and-share-everything) from a catalog. Taking something in real form and changing it to MDS form was my mission! So I started with our currant FANTASTIC Occasions Mini Catalog (ends April 30th!). With this warm weather we are having, I am gearing up for the summer and with it LOVIN the Sweet Shop Suite which starts on page 32. I also recently got the Sweet Shop Kit # 129339 with all the embellishments, dsp and stamp images that make my mouth scream for ice cream!
I spied this cute simple card on page 34. It was so easy to recreate in My Digital Studio! I bet these would be super cute printed thru SU too! Great summer birthday cards to have on hand.
See that cute yummy stamp set at the bottom...it comes with the kit too! The best part was finding that the stem of the popsicle was also on there separately so I could make it a different color. WOOHOO!
With My Digital Studio, you are constantly learning about this program and all the wonderful things it can do! The tip today is that you can change the placement of the drop shadow.  It defaults to the lower and right of the item. But if you click and hold down with your mouse then you can move it all around the item. You can also use your arrow keys to move it as well. That is how I got the shadow all around the white punch box with the wording on my card.  Give it a try!

Check it out! We have the one and only KIMBERLY VAN DIEPEN as Guest Blogger this week! She has some amazing MDS designs so be sure to stop my her spot!

MDS Blog Hop Friday - GREEN!

This week's challenge was PERFECT for me! I LOVE the color GREEN! Always has been my favorite! It also gave me a chance to remember some fond and special memories of my Grandma Managhan. It was 30 years ago this week that our family said goodbye to her. I still miss her but she lives on in spirit thru her children and grand-children and great grand-children (as quoted from my wonderful aunt).
There was so much to explain how this page was created so I decided to do a video with some of the tips I used to create this page. (forgive my mess ups and moving so fast as nervous & tired to not mix) After I did the video, I liked the Crumb Cake background so much I changed my finish page to it. Am I right?
Here is the list of downloads used:
Check This Out Designer Page Templates # 129921 (a must have!)

Over the Rainbow is my Pot of Gold

There is inspiration for designing EVERYWHERE! In the mail the other day, I received the new Target Spring at Play catalog. I just loved the playful strips of color on the cover. Instantly I knew I had a page in the making and the perfect picture to go with it.
Of course with the perfect picture, I had to find the perfect shape punch to put it in. This is where the NEW MDS download called Check This Out Designer Page Templates # 129921 comes into play. It has 17 awesome punch shapes for pictures. See HOLLY's POST HERE on mds.net to read all about it. I LOVE THESE! Wait....I TOTALLY LOVE THESE!
I used the NEW MDS Download Lucky Framable Designer Template # 129930 for the words and some were text boxes in Fling font, CK Ali font and Elephant font. I worked really hard on that little pot of gold. It is the teacup from Tiny Teacup #124462 and I used punches to fill in the holes in the teacup and bird wing punch to cover the handle. For the gold, I added a oval punch with More Mustard and several small circles in the same color to make it seem overfilled. The grass is a punch from Celebrate Anyday Greeting Card Templates MDS download #127757 filled with Lucky Limeade. That was an extra surprise to find in my punches lists! LUCKY ME!
This is a picture of just some our our youth and leaders...my pot of gold, my lucky charms and all in our favorite colors. Love these awesome peeps! I think GREEN is a very popular favorite color in the group!
Speaking of GREEN, check back tomorrow for the MDS Blog Hop Friday! We all have GREEN on our mind as St.Patrick's Day is near! I am over the rainbow in love how my page turned out as it has an extra special meaning to met this week.
Thanks for stopping by!

MDS Blog Hop Friday - Another Sketch

The super amazing Heather Summers selected this sketch for this week's challenge.  I have found that I love designing scrapbook pages from a sketch! Then with all the GREAT MDS downloads over the past few weeks, this page came together FAST! I mean SUPER FAST!
I REALLLLLLLY LUV how this page turned out! The page just calls out bright summer fun!
This is a EXTRA SPECIAL sneak peak into a MDS download that you can order NOW if you are a demo or on April 1st if you are a MDS customer. It is called Summer Smooches Kit # 129601. It's a great kit at just $9.95 and includes 12 DSP patterns, 3 embellishments and a 8-piece stamp brush set.

I found these pictures of my first daughter and a much younger looking me from some scans on my computer. I have been making some pages of both my daughters when they were little. Trying to catch up and MDS makes it so easy to do so! The page was easy to "case" the layout and then I just filled my pictures and begin to fill my punches with DSP til I had what I wanted. The arrow part and arm was a little tricky to accomplish. It is made up of a bunch of punches in Island Indigo. Add text boxes, buttons and title  - done!

I really hope we do more sketches for our challenges as they are lots of fun. Hope you too try this week's sketch! If you do, let us know!
Now on to see what everyone on the blog hop created with it. See Erica next!
Thanks for stopping by!

MDS Blog Hop Friday - casing one another!

This week's challenge was for us to select a layout from another MDS blog hopper and case it. (CASE - Copy And Share Everything) Ok, the hardest part of this challenge was selecting just ONE of this amazing, talented and brillant designers!!! So I picked my top three layouts from them and had my daughter Allison decide for me. Sounds more fair, right? Amber's layout below was the winner!
I was super excited to get started! I loved the flags behind the photo and the double mat on a clean and simple white page. The topic of BABY was on my brain because of last week's challenge and I while searching for a baby picture, I came across some sweet memories of my girls and even my nephews as babies. I used the Hello Baby Kit designer series papers for the flags, those too cute duckies embellishments and the stamp images for the title. Add a ribbon bow and some matching buttons. Here is my baby girl page. I had to scan the picture because we did not have digital back then so that is why it is fuzzy.
And I had to show that you could do this page for a boy too! All in the same Hello Baby Kit.
I hope that you liked my page/s this week!
So I wonder who everyone else cased? Hop to Erika next and see who she cased!
Guest blogger this week too! Welcome Kristyne!
