Dirty/Clean Reminder

I made this cute little easy to make reminder for the dishwasher.  I saw this idea in a gift book and thought it was super cute and my husband is always asking if the dishwasher is dirty or clean! 

To make this:  first you need, heavy chipboard or I used the heavy cardboard that comes with the DS paper packs.  I traced a computer CD and cut it out.  Then measured 2.5" x 4" papers for two colors.  Glue them on as shown and trimmed the edges with scissors.  Then I sponged the top Kraft paper in Whisper White Craft ink to make it appear "dirty".  Next, I cut the letters CLEAN and DIRTY on my Cricut using Base Camp Font.  They are 1.5" size.  You could use chipboard letters or SU die cut letter as well.  I took the DIRTY letter and sponged them with Chocolate Chip ink and stamped in black ink with the background stamps.  I then attached the letters as shown.  I added two magnets to the back of it and done! 

Here is what it looks like on the dishwasher.  I left this one at the Scrapbook Cabin.

Scrapbook Weekend! What fun!

My friend Cathy invited me to come with her to a scrapbook weekend that was put together by Jennifer.  We stayed at the Scrapbook Cabin in Ellijay GA which is just an hour north of us.  It is the perfect place to have a scrapbook get-together!  Price is reasonable too!  Thurs - Sun was $80.00 total and you had to make one meal for 12 people. You have plenty of space for 12, extra supplies and materials, a huge kitchen and living room to gather in, speakers for music, comfortable sleeping arrangements and a beautiful view of the gorgorous tree and open air.  I met up with friends and made new friends too!  I got lots done and even taught some of the ladies on how to make the mini scrapbook that I will be showing this week.

We even booked the cabin for next year already within the first ten minutes of getting there! 

I put this MDS digital scrapbook page together for my scrapbook pages of scrapbooking with friends.  Now I am not sure how this would print because the print borders would not be the same.  But I love how it turned out.  I used the Sweet Pea paper and the Medallion stamp.  I color matched the scallop oval to the light aqua in the butterfly.  I would love to try and make this same layout in real material.

6 scrapbook pages from 6 new friends!

On my scrapbook weekend away, the 6 of us decided to do the same page layout.  Jamie and Kim started it all!  Jamie made her page that she found the layout in a Creating Keepsakes magazine then Kim said that she was making it as well.  So then it began the ball rolling as me and Christine did ours and Rayna did hers.  So on the last day there, Cheryl HAD to make her version before she left.  So here they are!  We used Jamie's CK whatever it is called swirl cutter to cut the wave in the paper.  I love how you journal on the white paper inbetween the waves!  Each one is different and very creative!

Scrapbooking Tuesday

ALOHA! again Here are more pages from the Hawaii photo album that I made at Scrap Camp! I found this cute idea of Hula girls punch art from here: They are super easy to make. I used 1" circle, 1 1/4" circle and the trip flower punches to create these sweet island girls. To make one girl = Blush Blossum -two 1" circles, Old Olive - one 1 1/4" circle and cut to look like grass, Black - one 1" circle cut in half and one 1 1/4" circle, and the flowers punch x 4. Click on to view larger. This set of pages shows you how you can take the idea of a panaromic picture and apply it to the same idea as yesterday with the vertical photos. The bottom two slots are the panoramic shot with cardstock to do some journaling on. I hope you have enjoyed these pages and new twist to do a photo album! Try it! Scrapbooking Monday

ALOHA! One of my main goals at Scrap Camp was to finish this photo album of my trip to Hawaii with my mom in 2006. It was a 200 page album that I bought at Target. I only had about 110 pictures for this album so I wanted to add some scrapbooking elements to this traditional photo album. I loved the colors on the front and decided to stick with them as the theme for the book. I used Regal Rose, Pretty in Pick, Old Olive, White, Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. I used the retired stamp set called Do the Hula. Many punches and the Cricut letters were also used in this album. You can click on any of the pics to view larger. Here is one of the first set of pages. . I loved to using the 5-petal flower punch on this page and I still have some journaling to do on this page. Here is the newest technique I learned at Archiver's when using a 4x6 photo album. What do you do with those vertical pictures in a horizontal page book? You take the picture and cut it in half at a not so obvious spot and put in on two 4x6 cardstocks. Then put it on the same side slots to look like one picture. I love it! Then you can add elements and journaling around the picture. Brillant idea! So I have more to show you tomorrow from the Hawaii scrapbook! Have a magical day! Mahalo! Cindy

Scrapbooking Friday

I wanted to share with you two more scrapbooks that I finished during Scrap Camp. This marvelous idea came from Heather Summers on the UStamp promo last summer. The next UStamp starts April 24th! So I had each of my daughters pick their favorite SU! designer series paper from that catalog out and bought all the supplies I needed that were listed on the pdf. I did one thing different - I did only one layer on all the photos. Here are Megan's Kindergarten pages. I still have to do some journaling on all of these but I will do it with them to capture their thoughts of that year. I will do them on Word and print them out on white cardstock. She picked Jersey Shore Paper and used Brillant Blue, Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie colors. This is a close up of the photo page that has a pouch to hold the grade card report behind the 5x7 photo. The grade titles were printed from the computer off Word. Here is her 4th grade pages. I bought a blue scrapbook from JoAnn's to hold ALL her years - Preschool to Kindergarten to 12th grade and finishing with Graduation. - sad thought :o( Here are Allison's Kindergarten pages. She picked Cutie Pie Paper with Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, and Rose Red. Here are 1st grade pages that we will complete this year. I bought the same size and make scrapbook in red for her school pages. JoAnn's had them at 50% off! What a deal! I had to add more page sleeves as well. So I finished them in one day at camp. I am so happy to have them done and ready to fill each year. Preschool thru 12th grade pages are done for each daughter. The first page is their preschool years and the very last page will be Graduation. I think I am going to cry! Have a magical day! Cindy

Ok, so I am still in Scrap Camp hangover mode! My day flew by and by the time I realized the no posting, it was bedtime. So pictures are done and I will post what I made during Scrap Camp over the next couple of days. Cindy

Scrap Camp Recovery Day Two

These are my new friends called the Cuttin Up Crew! Tammy had T-shirts made this time which was fun to have! The other scrapbook group there was jealous of our matching shirts! We had 29 ladies attend and they are such a fun group of ladies! This was the spring gathering and they have one in the fall as well. Here is the scrapbook page that I created in my head at 4am while trying to get to sleep the last night. I even had to get up to sketch it down by the light of my cell phone. I made it once I got back down to the room at 9am. Everyone loved it, so many cased the page for their own group picture. That was so special and I was honored! I used Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip. The pink layout is 8 x 8 and eyelet edge punched on the bottom. The white is 5 x 7 so the picture had to be cut to 4.5 x 6.5. I used brown dotted ribbon from Betsy's bag of ribbon! :) The butterflies are from the Sizzix Big Shot die cut and word window punch for the center body part. The scissors are made from small and large oval punches with the word window punch for the blades. They are attached with a brad and popped off the page with a dimensional dot. The letters and numbers are done with my new favorite tool that I HAVE to get! The Cricut! I used the Tear Drop font and sized them to 1.25". Then I attached them with my next new favorite tool the Xyron! It makes any things 1.5" or less a sticker! Thank you Taylor for teaching me how to use them! I bought one at Walmart while I was there on Saturday. Love it! Now I need to have that yard sale so I can get the Cricut and the Disney Mickey Font to finish my Disney scrapbooks!
