Birthdays with the Creation Station Blog Hop

The Creation Station Design and Blog Hop is back this month! I was beyond thrilled to be asked to join this group of talented women for a monthly blog hop to inspire you with creative top of the line projects with a theme from all around the globe! We hope that you hop thru each blog and leave comments as we all love to hear praise about our creations!

This month we were to cover BIRTHDAYS and with this new movement created by Shannon West at Stampin' UP called #iambringingbirthdaysback, I have joined the bandwagon in creating many birthday cards!

A card for my dear sweet Dad as he turned 69 last month and this is a quote he says each year so I thought it was funny and perfect for him! I used my favorite Number of Years Stamp Set and Large Numbers Framelit Dies with the balloons from the Birthday Celebration Stamp Set.

While I had the Birthday Celebration Stamp Set out, I made a masculine birthday card with the same color combo of Smoky Slate, Tangelo Twist, Basic Black with Very Vanilla.  

Then I needed another masculine birthday card, so I changed up the color combo to Hello Honey, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  

But wait, I need one MORE masculine birthday card for my brother Jon, so I made this one! Colors are Pool Party, Hello Honey, Real Red, Basic Black and Very Vanilla. (Many guy birthdays in February!)

Stampin' UP Artisan Blog Hop - Celebrating International Scrapbooking Day

Welcome BACK to the 2015-2016 Stampin' UP Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! 
I am so blessed that I get to create and inspire with these amazing Stampin' UP products and share with you all here for another wonderful year! Remember that every other Thursday, all 20 of us from all over the world will post on our blogs an inspiring project for you! Be sure to get Google Translate so that you can read in your language all about how they created their projects too. This week is an "open to create" week. As team lead (who sometimes comes up with crazy ideas), I asked the ladies if they wanted to do something extra special like focusing on scrapbooking or Project life pages. Everyone was excited to give it a try and be challenged! We also found out that March 4th is International Scrapbooking Day and we are most definitely an International Team that dabbles in scrapbooking! Because it was our "free" week, we could use products from our Artisan boxes of goodies or add anything current as well so you will see alot of ideas with different products!

My all time favorite PL collection is the Moments Like These collection. I love the color combo, the GOLD foil, the sayings, the images, etc. I found this great photo of a moment that I never want to forget. I get a little sentimental when it comes to this girl. She is a Senior this year and I have been wanting to finish her scrapbook before Graduation. (I need a month off work to get this done mind you) I selected some cards from the Moments Like These Card Collection, cut them down to 3x3, added the Gold Glimmer Washi Tape (on Saleabration right now!) and used the Sweetheart Punch. That's it. Simplicity.

I wanted to share with you some pages that I finished recently using the Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Collection. (LOVE THAT ONE TOO) I made a Project Life page on one side and a traditional scrapbook page on the other side using PL cards too. I love the layout so much that I made another page for another memory using the same PL Collection.

We hope that we have inspired you to celebrate International Scrapbooking Day on March 4th! So get out your PL collections, 12x12 cardstock, your pile of photos and get your memories scrapped!

When I fist opened the 2016 Occasions Catalog, I was instantly drawn to everything on page 10 and 11! The bundle shown in this section is the Numbers of Years Stamp set and the Large Numbers Framelits Dies.

Oh how I have been longing for some large numbers and matching dies to cut them out with! (I hope it stays in the new Stampin' UP catalog coming in June 2016!) What I love about this bundle is the versatility of it...Birthday, Anniversary, School Album, etc. But what I also love is that it can go from a kid's card to a card for a woman OR man too! Each project on these pages in the Occasions catalog give inspiration for this bundle and it inspired me to case/create these three cards.

Fancy Friday - Least Use Color Challenge

Welcome back to the Fancy Friday Blog Hop!

My fancy friends and I are back for another blog hop! This group of past and current Artisans became fancy friends thru the Stampin' UP Artisan journey and well, we love working with each other so much that we decided to continue on with an all new blog hop to inspire you in FANCY new ways! 

 Each month on the last Friday, we will bring to you new challenges of all kinds (photo inspiration, color, sketch, stamp focus, etc)! This month, we are bringing back some least use colors from the Stampin' UP colors. Some examples are Marina Mist, Elegant Eggplant, Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, Pacific Point and Chocolate Chip to name a few! I even bet some of your ink pads have dust on them! We hope this inspires you to get out these least use colors and create something NEW! Leave us a comment with your link OR post with the #fancyfriday in any social media if you join in!

I have been wanting to create a project with this cute Photopolymer stamp set called Apple of My Eye from the Occasions Catalog. The images are so cute and fresh for summer!

Immediately the unused Pumpkin Pie came to mind when I saw the orange or lemon slice shaped image. Then I paired it with the Bright Designer Series Paper Stack where I pulled the bright Tempting Turquoise and Pumpkin Pie striped pattern. Do you see how I changed the direction of the stripes so that they blend to make a chevron pattern on one side? I stamped the greetings in Pacific Point, the last of my unused colors.

I made a matching gift package to hold 5 yummy clementines. I used the Berry Basket Die Cut to make this. Just add a paper doily over one of the edges. Then finish off with flags and a tag of the orange slice on a piece of linen thread.

Fussy Cutting Blooms - Stampin' UP Artisan Blog Hop

This week we are showcasing our Artisan projects for the Stampin' UP Facebook Page this month. For this project, the team was to focus on the Easter Lamb Stamp or the Birthday Blooms Stamp set with the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. Plan to see a lot of different design styles with these selective products as you move thru the blog hop! 

All of these are such great Spring products that I decided to showcase ALL of them and create a group of projects with the same color combo. I also focused on the technique that many stampers really dislike or love....fussy cutting!

For this card, I cut these beautiful flower blooms directly from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper, used the Birthday Blooms stamp for around the blooms and the greeting. One of the blooms is popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals. I also added mini hearts in Gold Glimmer Paper with the Confetti Heart Border Punch. 

For the gift box, I used the Takeout Boxes with a strip of the Birthday Blooms Designer Series Paper. Don't you love the yummy Watermelon Wonder 1" Stitched Satin Ribbon?Then I cut just a part of a bloom off the same Designer Series Paper and added it to the Note Tag Punch with a Clothespin. Now I have the perfect package and card set for someone's Spring birthday! But wait, there is MORE....

For this card, I fussy cut that adorable image of the Easter Lamb out. I stamped him first in Basic Gray Archival Classic Ink and added Blushing Bride color with a Blender Pen. Some more fussy cutting happened with the Fringe Scissors to make cut grass of Mossy Meadow and Old Olive. The 2015-2017 In Color Blossom Accents in Watermelon Wonder make the flowers. Perfect to send next month!

Glimmer Paper Love with Creation Station Blog Hop

 The Creation Station Design and Blog Hop is back this month! I was beyond thrilled to be asked to join this group of talented women for a monthly blog hop to inspire you with creative top of the line projects with a theme from all around the globe! We hope that you hop thru each blog and leave comments as we all love to hear praise about our creations!

This month we were to cover the Bloomin' Love Bundle or any color of the Glimmer Paper! Well as you can tell I picked the pretty bling side of that coin toss! 

For these very bling anniversary cards, I used the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper found in the Stampin' UP Occasions Catalog as well as the Gold Glimmer Paper. I used the Thick White Cardstock for my base. For the line stripes, I used the Gold Wink of Stella to make the lines. The photo does not show it off as well as it does in person. It gives you a little glitter across the card. I also used pieces from the Love Blossums Embellishment Kit: the Gold foil Heart, the Blushing Bride Satin Ribbon, and the sequins. The Sweetheart Punch makes the perfect layer on top of the foil heart. I used the Number of Years Photopolymer stamp set for the banner and greeting.

Birthday Blooms - Stampin' UP Artisan Blog Hop

This week is an "open to create" week but to stay within the parameters of goodies from our Artisan box. I chose to use the lovely Birthday Blooms stamp set and Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. I have seen many cards created with this beautiful flower bloom image all watercolored in and I LOVE it! 
But I wanted to share how to use it in a different way to show the versatility of it.

I took the stamp image with Smoky Slate Classic Ink Pad and stamped on my cut piece of Whisper White cardstock. I also add the dots image in the same color. Next I took my sponge daubers with Mint Macaron Classic Ink Pad and Pool Party Classic Ink Pad and softly swirled and sponged the two colors around the edges of the stamped piece. It almost looks like designer series paper! The Birthday Bouquet DSP has this great Blushing Bride striped pattern in it and I used it for the background. In between the layers is this cross checked washi tape from the Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape. I stamped the greeting with Archival Basic Black Stampin' pad on White Vellum Cardstock and die cut out with the Lots of Labels Framelits. Add some holes with the 1/8" Handheld Punch and a long single thread of the White 1-1/4" Jute Ribbon to tie around the card.

Of course, I made an envelope to match. Following the card front in order to match, I stamped the same image in Smoky Slate and Mint Macaron but a different greeting in Basic Black.To finish, add a strip of washi tape.

I am jumping into the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement too! Shannon West at the Stampin' UP home office started this little mission and it is taking off BIG TIME! I thought it was a great way to get back to the WHY we make cards after all!
