A Vampire Love Story

I guess you could say that I fell hard for the love story of Bella and Edward.  I started this summer reading Twilight and New Moon and could not stop there.  I just finished the fourth book Breaking Dawn a couple of weeks ago.  That is such a long book but I finished wanting more!  Now that the New Moon movie coming out, I will have to reread it before I go see the movie once it comes out on Nov 20th.

I made this bookmark for myself and then some to sell or give away with the book as gifts.  It is so simple to make.  It is a 1 1/4" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" or in half.  Then I took 1" square magnet photo and attached them to the inside bottom where they would meet thru the page.  Then punched out a shimmer white cardstock with the Eyelet border punch.  The hearts are punched from the heart to heart punch.  Then stamped in real red "love of a lifetime".  Perfect for this vampire love story!

Have a magical day!

Wacky Wednesday

I think this maybe the last Halloween item to show this year!  Maybe?  I need to check my camera to see if I made more after the last photo download.  I had some white treat bags that could not think of what to do with them.  I saw this idea off Kerry's Paper Craft blog were she does tons of items for craft shows.  These are totally cased from her.  The topper is held down by the scallop edge circle in the middle of the bag there. The ribbon is not Stampin Up and found at local craft stores.  The Designer paper is from last year but this year's DSP would look great as well.  Super cute and super easy to make.  I sold them for $2.50 each.  Click on picture to see details.

Made for Monday/Tuesday

I had every intention of posting last night but what a Monday I had! Megan, my oldest DD, had ingrown toenail surgery yesterday. PURE FUN! The hardest part was the numbing of the big toe. IT HURT! She is in a post surgery boot and looks like her Papa with his foot cast all proped up on a pillow while sitting. The pain of it hit her about 2am so she is tired this morning. We still have to soak it once we undercover the bandage to see how it looks.

So here are some cute Halloween treats that I made for my craft show. The punches are from Heather's Simple punches class. The lollipops are Carmel Apple Lollipops which are so yumm-o! The idea for the lollipop covers came from Dawn at Dawns Stamping Thoughts blog. She did some Valentine ones last year and I cased them. Very simple to make!

Off to wake Megan up to soak the big toe!
Have a magical day!

What is up with blogspot? Posting this morning is weird!  UPDATE: fixed it! Blogspot did an upgrade on posting and it is strange so my posts may look different from now on.

Witch Hat Treat Box

I have found a new favorite thing to make! These treat triangle boxes are IT! They are super easy to make and you can turn this into so many themed ideas. Heather even did some wonderful ideas on her recent Simply Holidays class. I have seen this Witch hat on several blog sites. It is a basic card cut and folded to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 horizontal. Then you score from the fold to 2 1/8 on the center of card. Do this four times. Then you fold them. Add 1/4" holes at the top to string ribbon thru to hold closed. Here is the best website I have found for a tutorial. http://www.carriestamps.com/weblog/2009/09/witches-hat-tutorial.html Thanks for sharing Carrie! Well, I have caught a cold. Remind me not to stress out and do a outside craft fair in the cold again! So back to the couch and to have some chicken noodle soup. Have a magical day! Cindy p.s. thanks for all the wonderful comments lately too!

Made for Monday

I survived the weekend! The craft fair was sort of a bomb because of the crazy weather we were having here in GA. COLD! WINDY! COLD! FREEZING! COLD! Some people braved the weather and came out but not as many as last year. I sold several Halloween items and I still have enough to use for myself! Guess that is a good thing after all. Here are some punch art treats that I made. Can you tell that I love that bat? He is so fun to make! I am making 10 each of these for a friend to give as Halloween treats to people she knows. Inside is a small cello bag filled with candy. The colors are gray and black and one of the new in colors - either melon mambo or rich razzleberry. Have a magical day! Cindy

Halloween Bat Basket

Over a month ago, I was at my favorite "I can find SOMETHING to buy" store TARGET, and saw these cute little tin basket in the dollar spot. What would I make with them? Halloween treats to sell at the craft show! Just needed to cute-n them up! I added the punch art Bat from my online class from Heather. He is extra special cause he is a magnet that can come off the basket and put on the frig. Then I added some ribbon and a tag. I scalloped edge of black and attached to the bottom. Finally cut a bunch of 1/8" purple strips and crinkle them. Love how they turned out! The purple was the perfect punch with the orange and black. I am a mad woman today! Getting ready for Craft show tomorrow and Scrap Night tonight! Busy people love to be busy! LOL Wish me luck! Have a magical day! Cindy

Japanese Inspiration

I made this back in August because I was inspired by my friend's daughter who went to Japan for two weeks by herself with an international group trip. She is only 11 but had a great time and did well! I saw this also in our demo magazine and wanted to challenge myself to make it. Another blogger had done this and I have forgotten her name after all this time. Oops! I cased this after hers. The colors are Dusty Durango, Melon Mambo and Soft Suede which I love all together. I used the stamp set called Eastern Blooms. I stamped the flowers and punched them out using circle punches. The fan is a strip of paper stamped to be like designer paper and folded every 1/2". Butterfly is the Big Shot Die Cut and popped up on dimensionals like the flower circles. You can see a close up below.
The card folds up in the center of the bottom "floor" and it looks like this on the outside with the ribbon around it. I added the sentiment "for you" and punched out large and small oval. Great to give as a gift/card and love that it displays itself!
Have a magical day!

Countdown to Halloween

Lovin this little calendar so much that I had to keep it! Let me explain. I started to make two of these. One for my sister-in-law Reenie as her monthly birthday gifts and the other for the church auction donation for the craft fair this weekend. Once I started to make it, I just fell in love with it! Allison did too! So Reenie still got hers and I kept the other one. :o) Do not fret! The church will still get an adorable auction piece - a covered frame that I made last year. The inspired project can be found here: http://stampwithheather.typepad.com/stamp_with_heather/2007/08/halloween-is-co.html I just modified it on a smaller scale and with that punch bat. I have MINE hanging on the frig with the other magnet tags next to it. Allison changes it every day. As you can see, I am prepping for the craft fair this Saturday! Good Shepherd Lutheran in Woodstock 10-4 for you local folks! Come see me! I have made more cute things since this picture on Saturday. I will post them on the blog soon! Have a magical day! Cindy

Made for Monday (finally)

Welcome back Cindy! I know I know. Moving into the Halloween mode now! Here is a card I made from an online class called Simply Holiday Punches. This is Frankie. So cute right? He was super easy to make with a bunch of punches. Colors are Pumpkin Pie, Black, Old Olive and Certainly Celery. Lovin the spider made out of a 1.2" circle punch. His eyes are white gel pen and black marker for his line and legs. This card is 4 x 4. I put him out to display with my other Halloween creations done recently. Wait to see all thru this month! Oh yes, here is a picture of my daughter Megan, who went to her first formal dance. Nana bought her dress and shoes which we had fun shopping for in 2 hours on Thursday night! Last minute luck we found something she liked and felt comfortable in. She enjoyed her night with her friends! And last, my Dad's surgery went well and he is at home recovering. Looks like a long 8 weeks! If he lasts that long with sitting on his rump! Have a magical day! Cindy

Thursday

What happened to Tuesday and Wednesday? Well, they were spent doing several things all at once and I totally forgot to do my blog posts. I am working very hard on crafts for my upcoming fair on October 17th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Woodstock. I am taking photos of all of it to show you all soon. Some really cute stuff for Halloween treats! On another note, please say a prayer for my Dad. We just found out that he has to have surgery on his ankle tomorrow afternoon. The ankle was not correctly healing and he is having surgery to but a plate in to get it to line up to start the healing. So now another 8 weeks of recovery for him. He was really good these last two weeks resting and all, but now he is bummed out by this new dilemma. Pray for successful surgery and quick healing! Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Trip Recap

Well, all is back to normal around here. I got my desk cleared off, house cleaned, bushes trimmed, laundry done and even some stamping done!
We had a WONDERFUL trip to DisneyWorld! Beautiful weather all week, fun times with the cutest kids (all four) and hanging out with my BFF and her hubby. Lots happened on the home front with the flooding in GA, college kid's drama and my father's motorcycle accident. But we had little damage in our garage due to flooding, kid survived her trouble, and my Dad broke only his ankle. Need a drink after Wednesday's call about my Dad. I WAS on vacation!
Here was one of the most fun nights we had at WDW. We decided to be Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. But because of the heat, we went with the t-shirt costume idea. We got several compliments on them.
Marisa - Sleepy
Megan - Sneezy
Jason - Doc
Howard - Grumpy
Cindy - Happy
Alexa - Bashful
Jory - Dopey
Allison - Snow White
So I will go over some trip details in the next few days with pictures too!
Have a magical day!
