A final MDS Monday - Favorite Downloads

This is it. The time has come. Let me pause for a moment to collect myself......
The very LAST MDS Monday post. Tami asked us to make a page showing our favorite My Digital Studio download. THAT was certainly hard to do by the way! Too many that I dearly love!

I was working on the 200+ pictures that I took on my daughter's prom night. So when this favorite download challenge came up, I knew what photos to use. Then it was instant inspiration from the photos to use the Glimmer Kit. I used the Gold and Silver toned embellishments and paper for the background. You could never use a WHOLE sheet of the real Glimmer Paper for a background! Seriously! I also used the Basic Pearls and Rhinestones download and the Gold Sequin download.

This has been such a huge blessing in my life to work side by side with these amazing and talented ladies on the MDS Monday Design Team! Tara, Holly, Tami, Beth, Yapha, Heidi, Jeanna and Anita, Rochelle, and Joan over the past couple of years.
You can bet that we will continue to use our MDS in some fashion! So be sure to check out our own personal blogs for some digital inspiration from time to time!

Thanks for joining us on this journey! It has been a great ride!

MDS Monday My Final Sketch Challenge #114

Sharing my last MDS Monday Sketch with you today. I have been so blessed to be on this digital design team and to create in MDS with them over the past year. There are some super talented ladies on this team and they all love MDS as much as I do so please be sure to check out there creations on MDS Monday website. Also please give them some love via comments!

Life has been super crazy and this roller coaster called life continues. I wanted to share a page that I made two years ago that changed my creative life. I made a similar page for the Stampin' UP Artisan Design Team Application. I knew that My Digital Studio HAD to be part of my application and this page is probably the one I am most proud of. So I made a sketch layout of it for you. Use it as you like. Add more to it. Change the background or use a different stamp as the focal point. Make photo boxes with mat. Just have fun creating in MDS!

Challenge Guidelines:

  • Please create a new MDS project for the current challenge.
  • Provide a link back to MDS Monday or use the challenge graphic above within your post.
  • Link directly to your post or mydigitalstudio.net sample page for this challenge, not your entire website (So we can find your project)
  • You can create a card, scrapbook page or 3-D object with the sketch.
  • The Challenge will end on Saturday May 23rd @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

The end is near and I find myself sad and yet thankful for this amazing ride with MDS after all these years. Thank you Stampin' UP for making a great digital program!

Special thanks to the whole MDS team thru the years at Stampin' UP: Andrea, Tanner, Tyler, Elizabeth, Sara, Shara, Lindsey, Philip, Holly, Chad, and Casey!

Extra thanks to Heather Summers for introducing me to MDS thru her online classes, Erica Shaw for asking me to be on the MDS Blog Hop, and to Holly Endress for asking me to be on the MDS Monday Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you will enjoy the sketch and do some creating in MDS!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #103 - Family Bike Ride

This week over on MDS Monday, Yapha had a very clean and simple sketch for all. These are perfect for a quick scrapbook page! You can focus on the photos and add simple clean images to enhance the photos. You can see my page above but I loved it so much and I had a few more photos that I had to make another page. What to do? Add a duplicate page mirrored! I added my other photos, removed the button and baker's twine bow, added a few more bike clips (recolored) and move my text to that page. I really like it now and I have more pages done on our trip!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #101

Tami has a awesome sketch and video this week over on MDS Monday! Be sure to go check it out and then open up MDS to create a page with it! The sketch is fairly simple, so it leaves lots of room for imagination. You can use three photos, like the template, or combine them into one or two, like my example. You group the photos and then drag a photo over into the group. You gotta have just the right photo and I thought this one of my besties on our BFFs' Day Out was perfect.
For my example, I used the designer series papers from Beautiful Today and the images from Painter Petals Brush Stamp Set.

Challenge Guidelines:
  • Please create a new MDS project for the current challenge.
  • Provide a link back to MDS Monday or use the Challenge Graphic above within your post.
  • Link directly to your Post for this challenge, not your entire blog. (So we can find your project)
  • You can create a Card, Scrap Page or 3-D Object with the Sketch.
  • The Challenge will end on Saturday February 21st @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

I selected Sketch #35 for this fun challenge! I was drawn to it by the diagonal aspects of the sketch! This was also a sketch that I never did as I join the MDS Monday Design Team on Sketch #39 so I was excited to take on the challenge! We took a brief yet always fun trip to Disneyworld. We got to see some of our Disney friends while we were there. Great fun and you are never too old to get a picture with Mickey and the gang! I left the background white because the pictures have so much activity in them. Then I just added more chevrons in Basic Black and Real Red. The title is a mix of two stamp images that I cropped to fit together. Opening your mind to this kind of thinking with you stamp images will help to have even more possibilities of word combinations. I also used the ink splatters found in the stamp location in MDS. Can you see my hidden Mickey?

We're also having a Blog Hop this week so you can see the sketches we picked and learn how we created out pages.  The next stop is Jeanna!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #93

Tami has a super sweet sketch challenge this week for you over at MDS Monday! You have to use one special photo and a flourish or two. I knew what photo I wanted to use right away! I took this photo of my daughter at the beach in September. I used the beautiful DSP called Lullably which is definitely not for just a baby theme. I love the confetti pattern as it has that trendy bohek look. I used the Convention 2012 download for my flourish around the photo. I also used the flag outline and the medallion flower image from the same download. The washi tape is from the download See Ya Next Year. Added some Gold Baker's Twine in a bow and string.

Challenge Guidelines:
  • Please create a new MDS project for the current challenge.
  • Provide a link back to MDS Monday or use the Challenge Graphic above within your post.
  • Link directly to your Post for this challenge, not your entire blog. (So we can find your project)

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #92

Back for a new MDS Monday Sketch Challenge! And guess what? I got to create the challenge this week! Ok, so it is a good one and most challenging cause it is double the trouble! Come on you can do it! December has arrived and I thought it would be great to make a double page layout for those thousands of Christmas pictures you took or will take soon! Another idea would be to change the trees to snowflakes for a snow pictures.....another idea would be ornaments for tree decorating pictures....see the possibilities? What can you come up with?  (you can do a single page layout if you like too!)
I took the layout as it was designed and re-colored the trees to Lost Lagoon. Then I used Designer paper from the Daily December Memories download. The stamp image for my title also comes from the same download. The snowflakes both stamp images and punch shapes come from the Festive Flurries download. I also like the option of filling some of the photo areas with Designer Series Papers if you do not have enough photos for this double page layout.

  • The Challenge will end on Saturday December 6th @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #91

Tara create this fun sketch this week with a focus on numbers. I love using numbers when showcasing a special event on a scrapbook page and of course, I finished off my godson's first year album with his 1st birthday celebration! For my page, I used many embellishments from the On The Go download. If you have MDS and boys, this is a must have! I re-colored the truck to Pacific Point but left the tractor the green and gray.

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #88

My sweet friend and amazing MDS guru Jeanna created this week's challenge for us over on MDS Monday Blog! I love that she said to go with LOTS of layers and embellishments which is so not me. I also played with the new tip I shared last Thursday HERE. The Days to Remember download is what I use mostly with this page. The leaf punches come from the Wonderfall download. It was lots of fun to make this page and I love the layout for many pages yet to come!

Challenge Guidelines:
  • Please create a new MDS project for the current challenge.
  • Provide a link back to MDS Monday or use the Challenge Graphic above within your post.

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #87

Happy Monday! I am sitting in Jury Duty this week so LOTS of time to create in MDS while waiting...waiting...waiting! YAY ME! I could not be happier to have time to just sit and create!

Yapha on the MDS Monday DT has her first sketch for MDS Monday!  Here are some of the challenges on this sketch to try this week. The first one is to change the size of the patterns when you fill a punch with patterned paper. Simply fill it, then double click on the shape, and you have the option to zoom in or out on the patterns by clicking the plus and minus. The second thing was to fill a group of photo boxes with one picture. Select the photo boxes you want to fill, group them together, then drag your photo on top. I love this feature in MDS! You can get really awesome landscape scrapbook pages with this technique.

I took a photo image with the Bohek look of sparkling lights in a blur. It is a cool photography trick I learned and I have use this style on a background of a MDS scrapbook page before HERE. I think this photo paired with the Gold Shimmer download,Gold Sequins download and Project Life® by Stampin UP® Love Story download is perfect together.

  • The Challenge will end on Saturday October 25th @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

You can give the challenge a try and submit your own page if you click on the MDS Monday button on the right side! MDS Masters and I made it with MDS Monday runner ups are announced every week.

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #86

Heidi brought a doosie of a challenge this week over on MDS Monday blog! She went for a background technique that could be applied to a card or scrapbook page, the herringbone technique.  You can find a step-by-step video by Juanita Golson on mydigitalstudio.net.

Ok, I have to be honest. I cheated....a little! LOL I copied the image below and pasted it directly onto the page in MDS program. Then I was able to change the opacity to 40% and send to back. Now I was able to use it as a guideline on where to put the lines. I used Washi tape from the See You Next Year download for my lines. I loved the pastels colors and thought how cute they would be for a baby card or even a page. Add that cute duck and the chalk font stamp image colored with the coloring tool and I would say..print it!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #85

This week's challenge was super fun to go back into the templates I have in my own My Digital Studio program and search for a template to make my own. I kept it very simple in the changes because I love the layout I picked. I even used a color combo that was suggested on the MDS color palette for a twist to my challenge. The 12x12 page template comes with the download of the Top Notch Woodcuts #133896 and it is only #3.95!  BARGAIN!!!
For my version, I actually removed the Top Notch Woodcut pieces and just use the awesome layout. I used the color combo found in the suggested color combos of the color palette: Pumpkin Pie, Pool Party, Pink Pirouette and Smoky Slate. I used a stamp image from the Project Life Love Story download for the title.

Challenge Guidelines:
  • Please create a new MDS project for the current challenge.
  • Provide a link back to MDS Monday or use the Challenge Graphic above within your post.
  • Link directly to your Post for this challenge, not your entire blog. (So we can find your project)

For this week's challenge over on MDS Monday, I was responsible for creating a sketch and give you a little lesson on how to do a text on a path. Remember that feature?
For this sketch, you need to use the Freeform Tool to create the lines around the photo boxes and then add text to them. Need help? Go to these videos link to learn how to do it:

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #82

For this week's challenge over on MDS Monday, Tara made a simple sketch with a challenge to keep it all white or very vanilla and one pop of color. I tried to make the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper background a cream but it was not working so I went with a Basic Gray and changed the opacity to 35%. I changed the background to Very Vanilla so that it peeks thru a bit. My pop of color is Lost Lagoon on the lace trim stamp brush image. I also re-colored the pearls to Lost Lagoon. I added a drop shadow on everything to be sure it popped off the page. My parents' 47th anniversary is later this month. Very blessed to have them as wonderful parents and great example of love.

Challenge Guidelines:
  • Please create a new MDS project for the current challenge.
  • Provide a link back to MDS Monday or use the Challenge Graphic above within your post.
  • Link directly to your Post for this challenge, not your entire blog. (So we can find your project)
